Apparently the number of days taken off through sickness is at a record low with workers taking an average of 4.9 off a year. Full story if you want - BBC News

Didnt pay it much attention to the article really until my phone rang this morning......

A very poorly sounding Steve on the line " Sorry mate, not coming in today" - maybe just a bit too poorly sounding if you get my meaning  Hmm - he's just had a week off on holiday !

Far be it from me to make any comment, but maybe he just had a heavy session last night!!!!

Err he cant see this bit of the forum, can he ?

On a serious point, my previous job i worked with someone who was always off ill, drove me insane as i had to cover them when they were off - company couldnt get rid of her due to Rules & Regs! Thats fine if you are a massive company and can sustain lazy employees, but what about the smaller companies?

Are you affected by lazyitus employee syndrome?

Black Cabs in Uber protests 16th June 2014 10:45 AM

Thats my point though - if the cabbies had just got on with it and accepted calmly a bit of competition i recon at least 75% of people would have never heard of Uber and probably not used a private hire cab fitted with one.

I think the whole black cab industry had given Uber a MASSIVE injection of free advertising.

It really was one of those times to shut up and calmly get on with life & not score a massive own goal

Petrol Car or diesel Car 16th June 2014 10:39 AM

Must admit i dont know how they do, but it happens a lot, in fact i was following a van this morning fully wrapped in decals advertising miss-fueling.

I always look for & wear a diesel glove so its always on my mind that i'm using diesel, when i had the MG, when i took the filler cap off i always got a whiff of petrol vapor, so i never got it wrong .

But like i said its very difficult now to fill a petrol car with diesel, guessing bikes will be the same as the nozzle wouldn't fit ?

Mindless vandalism !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 16th June 2014 10:22 AM
I skim read that, and thought blimey Clive really has lost it while I've been away! He's electrocuting anyone walking on his drive

When Morals clash with your Work 13th June 2014 12:19 PM

My free copy arrived yesterday - it was about 12 pages thick & so screwed up & crumpled in my post box i just put in straight into recycling.

Presume local postie delivered it but if everyone elses in my road was in same state, i dont think the Suns message would have got very far!

Anyone else have one?

Court fines to increase 300% 13th June 2014 12:06 PM

Seems ludicrous to me that for "just" speeding, which to be honest we all do, you potentially get punished more than if you do other more serious crimes.

Said it time & time again, the motorist is an easy target & our so called Justice system needs a complete overhaul.

Vote Clive for Justice Minister !!!

Oh dear  heard on the News this morning that Interest rates could be rising sooner than we would have hoped.

Is it the right thing to do? Are we really over the credit crunch and what is this going to do for families that are already feeling the pinch of higher utility bills & ever increasing food bills, yet haven't seen an increase in their wage.
