We're all only human after all. I bet you though, they'll be checking things a bit more thoroughly after this. Or, could it be another marketing "spoof"/technique, to get people talking....

Nothing here so far, I wonder why these guys are starting this early?
Chrome overtakes IE globally 16th August 2012 8:53 AM
What I have found though is certain web sites still only work on IE, this is becoming less and less but still means I have to boot it up every now and then. How can professional web sites be so unaware of Chrome and FF?

I think its still an industry standard in some businesses, but you're right, they should still have sites compatible with all browsers. I have seen that some sites (especially online virus scan companies) will only work on IE, so maybe its a software thing that it can only work on IE and not on anything else maybe?
Olympics farewell - final thoughts? 16th August 2012 8:13 AM
I missed it unfortunately. I did catch the news last night that had the folks from Brazil saying the next one would be better, and that there was going to be a lot of partying. lol sounds almost typical of Rio, but I have to say that I enjoyed watching the games in the UK, and think Rio has their jobs cut out for them.
That gets me thinking that, of the 270 staff, most of them are probably people offering gigs at fiverr rather than doing any of the real work themselves. They charge you, and then pay 5 dollars a piece to get your site spammed all over the net.

I don't know, these days where there are as many new updates coming out as there are days in the week, it looks like there may be a light at the end of the tunnel, but somehow I doubt it. They will find another way of doing it. Its just a matter of time, and researching. Hopefully, in that time the actual marketers could try restore some faith in the business that once was SEO.
hmmm, maybe not only pirating, I had a look at the list as well, can't believe there are a few sites there that I actually know, besides the famous ones, and its hard to believe they actually had these notices delivered to them. Its a bit of an eye opener, to be sure. One thing that gets me thinking though, is that its not just going to be software, but just about eveything else as well, including content, so maybe we will not be seeing spun content on the web anymore, or maybe this will just make certain elements pick up the pace, but it really looks like its better to be Mary Poppins, than be on the wrong side of a Google Penalty now days.

Spoonful of sugar anyone?

Need help for Link Building 11th August 2012 10:09 AM
I'm not sure about that either. I mean, if you are hanging around online, you would be at places you enjoy being at, so its means that its not always going to be specific to your business. Not everyone uses the net purely for marketing, so you are going to get links all over the place, people are also going to link your business to a lot of different sites online and they might not be niche specific either. You have pics on pinterest, a facebook page and your own personal blog, but everyone knows you as that person with that product, so they automatically link you to the business regardless.

One thing, I think, is that the more popular the technique (or more effective), the more its likely to be abused, and the faster its rendered null, or not worth the effort by Google.

Lyle Lovett - Simple Song. He has a soothing voice.
lol.

I don't really think it's going to be dropped that easily. As long as people believe SEO is the only thing they need to worry about, its not going away. Downgraded maybe, but not gone forever.

Thinking of starting a goat farm though.. could make a decent killing with that. (pardon the pun...)
