The new algorithm rolled out yesterday. It has made no difference to me as of yet, will have to wait and see.

They changed their content, so all's well that ends well.
Thanks once again.

No argument Harry, lazy content scrapers.

Let us know how you get on!

Dear Mr Robbins,

I am writing to you with regard to your message regarding text which you claim to have been "stolen" from your website.

It is true to say that I was "inspired" by your wording when writing the text for Vision Cleaning but (tried to) took/take care to alter it so it was (and is) not a direct copy. I will have another look at it and modify where appropriate in order to differentiate it more and hope this is satisfactory.

You may also want to have a word with these people as they appear to have "stolen" an image from your website... LT-dog-smell-carpet-01 | Care For Rugs, Mats and All Your Soft Floor Coverings Underfoot (dog on carpet)

Just received the above email. Hopefully it will now get sorted.

Thanks for everyones responses. I've just sent this email-

It has come to my attention that you have stolen content on your main carpet cleaning webpage. The content has been taken from my home page - Carpet cleaning Colchester | Domestic deals available..
This could compromise my own rankings and I would appreciate it if you would take it down.
Failure to do so in seven days will result in me contacting your service provider for a take down.

Thank you
Harry Robins

We shall wait and see.

P.S Could someone please run my url Carpet cleaning Colchester | Domestic deals available. through copyscape and tell me what you think- always good to have a second opinion.

Thanks Harry

I have just run an seo tool called copyscape and found out someone has stolen content from my website. What can I do?
Thanks Harry
If you are in a fairly small niche market and not located in a city, I feel it is possible to get top spot (or near) on Google+ Local fairly quickly with just basic SEO.

In my experience though, the results achieved by this are mediocre. I get maybe 2 or 3 leads a week, which I suppose is not a bad return from a free service.
Google local/place problem 21st September 2012 9:54 AM
Thought I'd add an update to this thread, as others may find it helpful if they find themselves in the same position.
To recap, as Paul pointed out, I'd failed to hide my address on a business that serves customers at their premises. I was unaware this was a problem until Google dropped my Local page. I contacted Google and explained my position. They asked for my patience, and to their credit it was sorted within about 10 days.

Thanks Paul for your in depth reply. I'll give it a go.

Yesterday I got a phone call from Google, asking If I received customers at my home address. I am a carpet/window cleaner, so I told the gentleman that it would be unlikely that anyone would need to visit my premises (home). The next day I found that there was no trace of my business listing. What have I done wrong? What can I do? I feel so angry and frustrated.
