So the SEO forums are hotting up, mickey mouse SEO companies are crying and webmasters are trembling as Googles Penguin is reborn as Penguin 2.0

"we do expect to roll out Penguin 2.0 (next generation of Penguin) sometime in the next few weeks though."

@mattcutts How big an impact do you expect this to have?

@gadget_heaven we'll talk more about it as we get closer or soon after the launch.

So storms are on the horizon.

Once again, batten down the hatches, man the main brace, chuck the cheap outsourced SEO idiot overboard and steer a steady course!

I'll get the goat ready.......

In all honesty I just hope that this somehow makes it harder for blackhatters and spammers to game the system. I'm still too skeptic though. With every penguin update so far, they've found a way to get around it all and to be honest, I dont think they're going to be able to curb webspam anytime soon.

We'll just have to wait and see i guess. *shrugs*

Thanks,

The new algorithm rolled out yesterday. It has made no difference to me as of yet, will have to wait and see.

I don't think it's made any difference to me either ...

I suppose one benefit of these updates is to act as a reminder to monitor how our sites are doing ...

Well it was supposed to a biggie, but judging from various SEO forums it seems to be a bit of an anticlimax, with little obvious impact across the board. Some early analysis showed some obvious targets, porn sites and gaming sites, with some friendly fire on the poor old Salvation Army

But there doesn't seem to be the same post analysis that followed earlier releases.

That's actually pretty good advice, and everyone should have a good look in their webmaster tools once in a while. It gets more and more user friendly, and Google likes to post any messages there, such as you have been naughty, fix it now
