I think over the coming months you wil see both Twitter & Facebook evolve to try and out run each other as well as trying to take on Google+

As said I think as long as you build some good content and put it out on the relevant websites overtime you will continue to move up within Google, Also remember you can look into other websites to see what they are doing which you might not be to give you that extra boost
