Irish Troubles! 22nd November 2016 1:17 PM

Yes I have been to Venice and it is so expensive!! Especially Saint Marks square it is ridiculously priced

Barcelona is the same- think it is most cities- attracts a lot of tourists worldwide so they try their best to rip you off because you are foreign.

NHS- New identity checks? 22nd November 2016 12:05 PM

sounds like a plan- don't think my dogs need micro chipping with their barking the whole street knows who they are, I'm pretty sure they couldn't blag their identity

NHS- New identity checks? 22nd November 2016 9:52 AM

It looks like our NHS system may be pulling their socks up! With many controversial issues regarding the National Health System it is about time they begin to make some changes in order to make the system safer for all residents of the UK.

With many illegal immigrants wondering the streets of Great Britain, and many foreign residents living here, the NHS have put together a new idea that they will start asking patients to provide two forms of ID before they are treated by doctors or nurses.

Now on a positive note this may be a good thing as it will increase the safety of patients already being treated within the hospital, by checking the identity of patients it will reduce the risk of impostors and make sure the right patients are being treated for the right diagnosis.

The NHS have said that they have

'a lot further to go in reclaiming money for treating foreign visitors'

Therefore as an overview their security needs to be improved.

On the other hand, a lot of British residents living in the UK do not own the two forms of ID that hospitals are asking for. The NHS have asked for a passport/birth certificate and a driving license or another form of ID that proves ones identity. With many elderly patients being treated this is said to be difficult due to many elderly not ever travelling outside the UK moreover not owning a passport and have never learnt to drive.

The most treated within a hospital environment is the elderly moreover the NHS need to base most research in to this development around them, if they are unable to provide two forms of ID, are the NHS then going to refuse them treatment?

Are the NHS going to let them suffer based around the fact they have no ID to prove who they are? What if they are born British and have lived in Britain all of their lives, paying taxes towards the National Health System?

I think there are some things that need to be reviewed on this new idea from the NHS.

What about you? What do you think?

No way! That's awful, have to be so careful you don't get ripped off.

Friday Feeling :) 18th November 2016 9:42 AM

So its that time of the week again, we have officially reached the day everyone loves. Well those of us that don't work weekends  Its Friday!!

I think Friday's can be so overrated though, I mean you spend the whole week wishing it was Friday, wishing your life away pretty much; don't get me wrong everyone loves having time away from the busyness of work and school etc but what we don't realise is that every working week we wish away is another week of our lives that has been wasted away, by wishing it was the weekend.

As people in today's society we have to work extra hard in order to achieve an outcome or a goal, we work hard in order to pay for things such as houses, food, bills etc but we also work hard to be able to buy or spend money on things we actually want for ourselves like a new car or a holiday or even a new phone. That is a part of life, if we don't treat ourselves occasionally then what is really going to motivate us to reach that target at work/school. Maybe you have a different motivation, any motivation helps you to succeed.

Next time you wish your week away for Friday to come, remember what you're wishing away; you are wishing away time that could help you buy yourself that new car or holiday.

On the other hand to brighten the day, HAPPY FRIDAY!! enjoy your weekend.

Its terrible isn't it, being a young girl with minimal experiences it's so nice to be able to be warned by more experienced people like yourself. At least I will know next time. Nothing a good rant can't solve haha

thank you!!

Who knew Ireland was so expensive! We've all heard of the troubles, but it's not until you actually visit and its coming out of your own pocket that you realise just how expensive it really is

Don't get me wrong after recently spending a weekend in Dublin; I enjoyed every second of being a tourist and exploring such a beautiful city however its no surprise the amount of homeless living in cold conditions on the streets. Eight euros for a pint of cider, and about three euros for a glass of water- its ridiculous. I'm not an alcoholic or anything and it's not just the price of alcoholic drinks that is expensive, but obviously exploring a new city it is only common courtesy to taste the different beverages they have to offer.

" Make sure you don't get ripped off by Taxi Drivers in the centre, they will hear you are not from around here and try to rip you off" says the Taxi driver who then proceeds to charge us 40 euros from the airport to the hotel.

*Saves 40 euros for the taxi back to the airport two days later*

"That'll be 23 euros then please my darling" says a different taxi driver that transports us back to the airport for the return flight home.

Its crazy, you have to be so careful you are not being ripped off just because of your accent in a foreign country- it is unbelievable how something so little can effect how much you pay. They just take advantage of the fact you are at a disadvantage of not really knowing your surroundings.

My advice is- pretend you know what you are talking about and be careful if ever visiting the city of Dublin. Whether it being because we were two young girls or just because we were British- that we will never know!!

I just had to write a promotional article for a client about a confectionery supplier in NZ that stocks UK sweets and American candy. Confusing that they call sweets, lollies in OZ and NZ.

When I was checking out their website for research I spotted Terry's Choc Orange. My Dad loves these and only gets them at Christmas - to be honest I think they only produce them at Christmas or am I wrong?”

Nooo Terry's Choc Orange is around all year, my sisters guilty pleasure so shes always tempting me with it all year round I would say it does become more popular at Christmas time, I don['t know why that is though

John Lewis Christmas Advert Released! 17th November 2016 9:12 AM
It's far better than last year's offering.

Morrisons is quite good; young boy learning from Guinness Book of Records (always a good present for kids).  House of Fraser is just a re-hash of last year.  Aldi feature a carrot.

As for M&S, I felt underwhelmed when I saw it for the first time.  Perhaps it will grow on me, but doubt it.  Seems to sum up M&S at the moment!”

I quite liked the M&S advert, touched my heart- maybe that's just me though. Found it heart warming, everything Christmas related is always to do with Santa Clause- I like that they have spiced it up and introduced Mrs Clause

I didn't know about this store!! Wow I'm defiantly going to have to take a look at that
