Funding for startups 20th July 2020 10:37 PM

Just to say I took the link for money wow out of your reply as I checked them out and they have some very dubious reviews in the Google app store. I would be very cautious using them. Some people claim it is fake and some saying they call all your contacts if you're ever late with a payment.

Business funding info is best sought from free places like Barclays, they have a special business team and other banks do similar. Or your local council or the FSB (federation of small businesses).

I'd be dangerous without work to do. I would just find trouble to cause!

Great to hear about your experience. Makes a big difference to your credibility as a coach.

Don't believe anything until you see it with your own eyes!

Trying to laugh and not be offended by the missing apostrophe

The economy is talked about constantly, but it's going back to work just about money? Or do we need it for our mental health?

Many people have  been off work on furlough and some have sadly been made redundant since. Whichever it is there has been a lot of sitting around watching Netflix and far less working. Especially in some sectors. And it's not been by choice.

And will this rest and relaxation be good for people? Family time increasing has certainly been great for some parents who usually don't see their children as much as they want to. But of course no break from each other is also stressful.

I've seen a few honest posts on social media from people going back to work after furlough and they really don't want to. And who can blame them if the job they're going back to isn't the same, as some companies have changed contracts and duties and people are no longer doing the jobs they signed up for. I

also a state of apathy sometimes. The less you do the less you want to do. Just like exercise gives you more energy and too much sleep seems to sap it.

So, do we all need to work hard?

Well I guess the definition of hard is up for debate, but I do believe working gives you a sense of purpose and achievement. Some may dream of a lottery win and we definitely don't want to have to worry about money all the time. But working is more than just an income often. People who get made redundant often struggle with their mental health and that's because you lose a sense of worth and usefulness.

During this challenging year, let's ensure support is out there for people who have lost their jobs and who need extra help going back to work. It's a big change for most people and these are not ordinary times. Keep an eye out for friends or colleagues who might be struggling and offer an ear.

There are some helpful links on this BBC page to some support groups if you need someone to talk to.

It sounds really difficult! I really sympathise. I hope they get bored soon! That's annoying that you have to show loss as well.

Maybe use some of your products on them.

I do hope it works itself out soon.

That is a disgrace!! Unfortunately people do do this. Like has been said you could take them to court. I had an ide athat a cease and desist wasn't that costly, but I could be wrong enitirely.

One thing is for certain if their content is as bad as you say it is unlikely to do them any good and sometimes the best way forward is to run your own race and let them trip themselves up.

I do think it would be worth getting some free legal advice though, to see if that would help.

What experience and track record do you have? If I was you I would lead with this as you need to build trust to get coaching clients. I think business coaches can be great if you pick the right person for you and they know what they are doing, unfortunately there are a lot of less trustwrthy individuals around as well.

I really just want to sing the praises of a great little scheduling tool called Acuity.

I signed up warily, technology isn't always my friend. But it was very easy to set up and even customise with logos.

I can now send a link to a client specific to the type of call they are having, and if it's chargeable you can add that in. It'll give them my availability, let them book them confirm it. It'll send them a link with a pre call form I like to have completed. And it's integrated with my Zoom account so it'll auto schedule the Zoom as well.

It's really saving me a lot of time and makes things look altogether more professional. They can reschedule if they need to and your can set the parameters for this (not within 12 hours of the call etc.)

I'm definitely not on commission but I would recommend you check it out if you do a lot of calls with clients.

Top post. It's true about trolls and abuse.

Someone told me a while ago that if people start having a go at you, then take it as a compliment and mean your popularity is on the rise  At least that's how I take it when I get someone taking a pop

Absolutely. It means you're reaching further than your tight knit circle and that's essential if you want to grow your network and business.
