Online spend will only increase. Customers are much more sophisticated now. It is also much more competitive and difficult making money off stores in some of the mainstream markets where you sell goods as the big boys have completely taken over. Smaller businesses are doing the niche market very well. The service industry seems to be the domain of the small business.

It is also no longer just about having a site...people forget to add a price tag to seo...they think is free...even if you do it yourself it's not free as it's very time consuming and your time equates to money!

Acer are value machines...generally good. They are nothing to jump up and down about. That doesn't mean machines are bad. The customer service on most of them are about the same...rubbish. You are often dealing with call centres.

But on this occassion, I am struggling. Here is the type of stuff I am looking for. I may just have to stick with clipart.com

Does anyone know where I can get some quality clipart images. I have been recommended this site, but I find some of the images a bit cartoonish, sometimes a bit childish. I am looking for IT related images.

Clipart - Download Royalty-Free Clipart, Images, Fonts, Web Art and Graphics

I don't mind paying a bit more for better quality images.

Thanks.

SEO, Google and reality... 23rd October 2010 4:08 PM
Steve, I was just thinking about this yesterday... your timing is perefect. As far as I am concerned, it is very difficult getting anywhere near the top without buying some links or doing some keyword optimisation aka stuffing. Whether we like it or not, some of these "not so nice" tactics work, otherwise these site won't be on top of the results.

I promised myself that I would not intentionally optimise keywords. However, the truth is I have had to cave...so I a bit guilty as the next person.

However, my sins are small.
Task Management 22nd October 2010 10:33 PM
I agree with Steve on this one. I have the PC, Laptop, iPhone, but for whatever reason, I have this little book I keep with me, it's my task list. It's simple and it works.

If you really want to use the technology, then Outlook/Exchange allows you to do plenty with tasks, such as delegate/assign etc.

I didn't have time to read what the others wrote, but if you are asking, if you can upgrade, then yes.

Windows 7 is great. Not because I am in IT. It just works as it should.

UK Economy to slow over the Winter 19th October 2010 9:46 PM
Oh well. It's up to us to save the country again.

To be honest, I don't think it's going to be that bad...slow and boring...that's probably it.

Steve,

I am just going to think sunny thoughts...and pretend none of that is going to happen.

While we are on the subject, I am more concerned about the unemployment in public service organisations.

Things don't look positive...I wonder if we are talking ourselves into a double dip!!!

I hear a lot of businesses are already planning on cost cutting.
