the vendor had considered the £300k cash offer over the weekend....... And decided to stick with the original £160,500 cash sale..... I get the distinct feeling the vendor has no idea what has been going on...... or I'm living in La la land........

erm that makes absolutely no sense?

If you fancy living in Bills Town and want to offer me double, then the house is yours

Interesting official response to the petition:

The Petitions Committee has decided to schedule a House of Commons debate on this petition. The debate will take place on 5 September at 4.30pm in Westminster Hall, the second debating chamber of the House of Commons. The debate will be opened by Ian Blackford MP.

The Committee has decided that the huge number of people signing this petition means that it should be debated by MPs. The Petitions Committee would like to make clear that, in scheduling this debate, they are not supporting the call for a second referendum. The debate will allow MPs to put forward a range of views on behalf of their constituents. At the end of the debate, a Government Minister will respond to the points raised.

A debate in Westminster Hall does not have the power to change the law, and won’t end with the House of Commons deciding whether or not to have a second referendum. Moreover, the petition – which was opened on 25 May, well before the referendum – calls for the referendum rules to be changed. It is now too late for the rules to be changed retrospectively. It will be up to the Government to decide whether it wants to start the process of agreeing a new law for a second referendum.

The Petitions Committee is a cross-party group of MPs. It is independent from Government. You can find out more about the Committee on its website: http://www.parliament.uk/petitions-committee/role

No doubt will result in a lot of hot air, some headlines and 24 hour news fodder, but nothing will change, apart from some more money spent.

Money markets seem to be slowly recovering. $1.33 to the £1 this morning, and €1.2 to the £1.

So the 2nd EU Referendum petition is up to 4.1 million signatures, which means it has to be considered by parliament, but Theresa May says there would be no second EU referendum.

Here is the current official statement:

So does this mean this still has to go for debate or has it been stopped in its tracks?

Do you think this petition should be pulled down and we concentrate on preparing for Brexit, or do you hold out hope this petition may be the beginning of an ongoing campaign?

Well today the political wheel turns again and Leadsom throws the towel in, meaning Theresa May is now the next PM.

Meanwhile in the Labour camp....

Sounds like a possible contender for the Darwin Awards, particularly if the Cypriot Police turned up and are not known for their sense of humour...

Neighbours in rental properties 11th July 2016 1:36 PM

Not casting aspersions, but we recently had a neighbour who decided it was ok to drive over peoples front lawns. If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, and the obvious tyre tracks, I wouldn't have believed it.

Stereotype alert, but it's a rented house with East Europeans, and a Welshman  The couple who rent the house are fine, and have been round for a beer and very hospitable. But one of their sub tenants seemed to struggle with parking, and drove across my elderly neighbours front lawn regularly, so I had to go round and have a polite word. Then our neighbour who still drives, sometimes had problems getting on her drive because "visitors" would park across her drive, prompting another polite chat.

I remember renting houses when I was younger, and wouldn't dream of driving across a lawn or blocking someones driveway, but wouldn't think twice about being noisy at night, and now cringe years later

So maybe it's the fact you are renting that can make someone less thoughtful, or maybe it's an age maturity thing?

Big rock sounds good, just go and find a couple in the countryside and get a male friend to lift them for you

Keep with LeBlanc and Schmidt presenting but keep the current format as it sort of works. ”

Will that be enough to bring back the audiences though? Be interesting when Clarksons show is aired to see what happens.

As a lady plane spotter, great photo!”

I'm not the only saddo on the forum

Was at RIAT at the weekend, what do you think?

F35 Stealth Fighter

With political chaos, economic doom and gloom, and a miserable summer, it's nice to have had a positive weekend for once!

Andy Murray wins Wimbledon, and Lewis Hamilton wins Silverston  Is it enough to unite us and cheer everyone up?

Spent Sunday at the International Air Tattoo, watching the much hyped new plane the RAF and Navy have bought to replace the harrier, the F35. To be fair it was very impressive, and coupled with great performances of RAF Typhoons, I felt a wave of nostalgic positivity for the Country. Further enhanced by announcements from Wimbledon and the Silverston.

For any saddo plane spotters like me, here's the F35 in all her glory.

First pics are the RAF aircraft:

Watching move into the hover:

Then a close up of an American one:

Forget the fact each one costs the price of a small country, it is an amazing bit of kit, with a service life planned to be 35 years+.

Yep have some superb suggestions, can guarantee you top of Google Page 1, dancing girls and a coffee maker.

But it will cost you 50% of your contract

Deal?
