answering services 1st April 2010 3:16 PM
we're often out of the office and so we decided to try an answering service that emails us whenever there is a genuine call, and doesn't bother us if it's a time waster.

we had a 2 week free trial with Call answering service, telephone answering service and virtual PA services - Reception Bureau and now we're using them a lot.

Marmite cereal bar - yuck 23rd March 2010 9:42 PM
I've never been a great fan of marmite though I can tolerate a small amount on toast - and it is meant to be good for you....

today I was given a freebie at a train station - a marmite cereal bar.

I like cereal bars... and so I took a bite... and I was very nearly sick and nothing normally ever has that effect on me.

so... unless you like a very strong marmite taste in your mouth... I'd recommend being a bit careful if someone offers you a marmite cereal bar freebie

also worth mentioning that some of the online storage options are free or at least so cheap you don't have to think about it too much.

eg BT Digital Vault - 5Gb included with all BT Total Broadband Options

Dell - 2Gb Free - 5Gb

I'm often amazed by the lack of backups / disaster recovery that I see at businesses large and small that we deal with.

so here's a challenge....

pretend your PC has been stolen. now see how long it takes to start with a clean Windows install (or other operating system that you use) and get completely back up and running with all your software installed and all your business data set up again and without any data loss.

if you are back up and running in no time, congratulations !

if not, you might want to give some thought to backups.

you can get a 500Gb external disk these days for less than

finally got the red X removed...

my advice to anyone else who gets in this situation is to keep contacting SiteAdvisor and pointing out that you have followed their advice and it has been months since they said they would retest.
I'd search for "health and safety somerset" for example

so I'd suggest changing your site title to start with "Health and Safety" rather than "Smart Health and Safety" etc

but it all depends on how many links you've got to your web site. if you don't have many links to your web site, but your competitors do, then google will consider your competitors web sites to be more important/relevant to someone searching for "health and safety" than yours.

take a look at what your competitors are doing, what do they use as a site title, what sites link to them etc

I hope that helps

about a year ago we had a link on our web site to a shareware site programshome.com

McAfee SiteAdvisor considers this to be a dodgy site and so we removed the link to that site, as soon as we found that it was considered to be a dodgy link.

but McAfee SiteAdvisor still shows our site with a red X and warnings.

not only that but SiteAdvisor lists out of date downloads as well as missing our key download which has been on our site for 2 years.

we've complained and asked for a retest but nothing has happened.

has anyone managed to get the red X removed

thanks
