Also I think some of the spare seats were intended for athletes if they wanted to watch their team members but at the start of the games not many had the free time to use them!

Who on earth thought this would be a good idea - have they not heard of the age old adage never to work with children or animals!! Also I don't think this is representative of modern Britain in any way!!

I think the main error was in communication between the marketing department and the supply chain side of things - and this is probably quite symptomatic of a lot of large corporate failings because as a businesses get larger and departments become more autonomous, communication failures between the departments can lead to massive blunders.
