Anyone 'used' Lewis Day courier service 23rd November 2011 6:32 AM
In my last role, we used City Sprint for our Courier work but found it far too expensive to warrant continual use of it. We shopped around and are now using a more local 'smaller' company but found personal service and overall quality much much better.

Hopefully there is enough work out for there for everyone....

Steve

One of our suppliers uses Lewis Day to collect from us and deliver back to us. I didn't realise that they had been taken over.

For our own deliveries, we have also shopped around and use a smaller company who give us better prices and a good service.

Being a small company ourselves, I always prefer to give our work to smaller companies that appreciate the business, just as we would.

Personally, though, I confess to being guilty of purchasing my own goods from Amazon most of the time. As much as I would like to give smaller suppliers the business, none of them seem to be able to compete with the prices and user-friendly site of Amazon.
Skinny Dipping 22nd November 2011 6:42 AM
An elderly man in Louisiana had owned a large farm for several years.

He had a large pond in the back.

It was properly shaped for swimming, so he fixed it up nice with picnic tables, horseshoe courts, and some apple, and peach trees.

One evening the old farmer decided to go down to the pond, as he hadn't been there for a while, and look it over.

He grabbed a five-gallon bucket to bring back some fruit.

As he neared the pond, he heard voices shouting and laughing with glee.

As he came closer, he saw it was a bunch of young women skinny-dipping in his pond.

He made the women aware of his presence and they all went to the deep end.

One of the women shouted to him, 'we're not coming out until you leave!'

The old man frowned, 'I didn't come down here to watch you ladies swim naked or make you get out of the pond naked.'

Holding the bucket up he said, 'I'm here to feed the alligator.'

Some old men can still think fast.

but shoppers can only purchase by scanning the QR codes on their smartphones.

Sorry, but I thought the idea was to give people as many options as possible. QR codes should be an additional option, not the only option. Not everyone has a smartphone.

It's only a five day experiment, so it will be interesting to see the results.
