Well it seems an OK idea - but what is there to stop spammers using your ID in an attempt to rub your credibility off onto there spammy content?
Looks like 2008 is going to be replayed all over again, seems like same mistakes will be made again.
Well I usually go to town with a new site and work through the whole of the following lists

Strongest Links - Directory list

It tends to be pretty beneficial - that said I haven't worked with a new site for two years so it could be different now.
What seems to happen quite often in my very limited experience, though, is that the article in the first ezine directory is picked up by another ezine directory ... and so on, ad infinitum.

That was correct and it worked well until early 2010 - then the spammers started services - write a single article - spin it 100 times submit to 500 or 1000 sites.

That was the problem.
I went to the Google Oxford roadshow back in June and they were saying that around 10% of web users view websites on mobile devices, but this is expected to pretty much double in the next 3 years.

So its worth checking your Webmaster Tools to see what % your website is at currently. If its over 10% then maybe worth setting up a sub domain for mobile visitors or at least tweaking your site to make the best of the new market.
how to Keyword Improve? 15th August 2011 9:20 PM
Well backlinks are important, but they need to be from pages that match your theme. Also backlink growth velocity, by which I mean adding regular links each month rather than a large number at once, then none again for a long time.

The search engines like Google are really looking for what they consider to be natural patterns.
This is exactly why Google brought out the Panda update. Only problem is that it hurts the site owners most rather than the authors.

So all those web 2.0 sites take a pasting whilst the spammers move along to the next niche - blogs like typepad and blogger etc.
Record profits for Apple! 15th August 2011 8:30 PM
You have got to hand it to Apple, they have managed to come up with great products whilst being a lone supplier.

At one time I thought they would go the way of Betamax/VHS with the PC market being the VHS bit

Anyway I am glad they are making such good stuff.

I think the idea is that news providers such as CNN produce an app that means their news stories can be read from within facebook ie user don't need to click away from facebook.

Apparently google is working on something similar.
It's a pretty good improvement before if you had 1,000's of links it was difficult to sift through the list.
