That is very interesting, i thought about a franchise many years ago when i first started the business, but when i looked into it i got lost, we were turning over serious money at that stage, whereas now we are more ticking over due to ill health a couple of years back. We are starting to rebuild the business but my business partner (also is my wife) has now retired and so it is just me. the weather is not helping and i would live to look back at selling it on as a franchise so that i do earn a bit for all of my hard work, and i would certainly train people into whichever part of the business they require training.
You have rekindled my thoughts and so i will spend all day searching and seeing what to do. i already have interested parties but they want me to finance it all, whereas if i could get people interested at a low cost for the franchise they could use our name and their vehicles etc with leads from us.
But do i not need to have a lot of turnover to franchise a business?

i have another business that has already been set up a year ago and so i am also known under that business anyway.

but i would rather keep it than sell it cos i think it is a catchy name, i will still be trading as a pestie but in my own name.

I agree it can be a pain to start again, but we already have other businesses in place and so it will only be a case of promoting them more, as we are already established on google etc.
i know the company in China approached me and i would not think for one minute that they would pay for the Ltd name.
I have a business in the north of Derbyshire that wants to trade with me and so i may well see if they want to buy us out.
I doubt it will go anywhere but one never knows till it is tried.

I had a company in china ask about some domain names i no longer wanted, which were the same as my business name. I was wondering if they wanted to buy the company name but cant find who they are.
Question is how much is a Ltd company name worth?
I know the company that was looking at the domains did not carry out the same work as me so from that score the name of It Has 2 Be Done Ltd could trade as anything.
Any ideas how i go about a valuation on a name only, plus phone numbers website and all domain names, and obviously any work generated from the name. But no other assets as they are not owned by the business. I wish to streamline my business into a more specialised area of my work

Something completely different from business, there i am sitting in the office looking at the birds dancing and doing what they do in the garden. It is really quite delightful

i have a card reader that i take with me when out at work, so that my customers can pay by card which is much the way i like it. however i am in the last 12 months of my contract and am starting to look for an alternative company. i am with Commidea at the moment, which means i pay them for the terminal and my bank for the merchant banking. i am looking to eliminate one of the payments. Any ideas as to the best around i have found payment sense and am wondering if any of you have or do use them.
