Xmas - to close or not to close? 23rd December 2011 1:34 PM
So as business owners, are you shutting up shop for a well deserved break between Xmas and the New year, or is it business as usual on the 28th December?

To close, or not to close, that is the question:
Whether 'tis Nobler in the mind to suffer
The abuse and venom of outrageous customers,
Or to take the armchair and sit in front of TV,
And by doing that losing customers: to die, to work
you choose; and by working, to say we
turnup and do more than just sit there.
'Tis a consumerisation gone mad......

Okay, poor effort.. ..tis the silly season after all.
I couldn't have put it better myself - enjoy!

Do they change the person who does the voice on that service, like once a year? Just pondering.

Not every year and if you're still pondering the details are here
Interesting concept, having read your "About Us" page still not clear how the concept will work in reality?

Have you had any formal acceptance of this approach from the Internet regualtors, such as ICANN or ISOC or any other authorative body?

If not, it may worth seeing if you can interlock with somebody that way to help get the concept off the ground.

Interesting. I didn't know we can dial a number to check out time. Or maybe someday it will tell us date and what day is today.

Maybe there's a business opportunity!!

It is a great number and amazing..too...

Amazing?
Santa's watching? Yikes!

If Mark Zuckerberg's "private" photos can be got anybody's can...

BBC News - Facebook bug sees Zuckerberg pictures posted online

It shows the importance of being selective in sharing photos online (on any website), even if you think you're sharing to a select few of your friends.
Royal Mail! 7th December 2011 8:38 PM
Mary is back in the house and on top form!!!!!!!

Hurrah!! About time we had some decent rants!

I must say, I've always thought the Royal Mail were great but in the last year the postal system seems to have somewhat deteriorated. Though some of the missing parcels I've had have been posted overseas so I don't know if they've gone missing in Royal Mails hand or some other foreign postal company...

It does look like a virtual address is the way to go.....

So, Virtually Mary could have a Virtual Address. Does that mean you'll only be able to have Virtual time off?
Facebook - a $100bn business? 1st December 2011 11:09 PM
Well I still find it interesting to know how Facebook will make it into a money making machine...

As the article says, can it turn 800m users into a $100bn business? It states that "it's the ultimate "sticky" site, with users spending much longer on it per session - about 30 minutes on average - than people do on Google. That's more time to see and respond to ads".

Okay, but I've never clicked on a facebook ad, but I have clicked on Google ads. When you go to search on Google you're after something information/product/service so you will potentially click on an advert. I'm not looking for any service/product when on Facebook so unlikely to click an ad. They do sum it up as "demand fulfilment ads - Google's speciality - and demand generation ads, which she sees as Facebook's strength". and I guess if Facebook is to have advertising revenue of $3bn this year advertisers must be seeing a return.

..or have I missed something obvious? I guess if you've got 800million users you only needs a certain percentage to be clicking through to be earning some good bucks!
