Guess how many calls a year are still made to the speaking clock?
I'm not sure if it's you get it in other countries so as a summary in the UK you can dial a telephone number (123) to find out the time.
In this day and age you would wonder why anybody would need the service. As a clue I well and truly under estimated.....

hmmmm.... My Local Talking Clock......  I'm guilty, but I always call it when I'm resetting a clock in the house. Was always quicker than firing up the lappie and checking the atomic clock. Maybe with iPads and iPhones this will start to wain? Had no idea it was 31p though, robbing dogs....
You guys have it too? We have a service here that when you dial (1023 - LOL I am serious), you get a woman on the other end of the line saying "when you hear the tone, it will be...(she then turns robotic) and tells you the time, followed by the beep. The last time I checked she translated it from English to Afrikaans as well. Thanks, Dreamraven
