My site has gone off the radar! 31st March 2010 9:43 PM
Good point well made kip but unfortunately I'm not in a position to pay anyone at the mo so looks as if I'm going to have to puzzle it out myself.. I have friends who are web designers but just don't want to mix business with pleasure so to speak. I'll get there I'm sure I've only been in business for just over two months so maybe I'm being too impatient!

mama, just did google search for mama c, your bottom page one so your still there.

I mean this in the nicest possible way, you need a web designer, free sites and templates will always be eratic, Kev was offering free builds on here before, not sure if he is still doing it or not, but sometimes you have to get a pro in.

Bite the bullet, go pro!

Some good points made there kip, not that i totaly understand it like mamma c. I dont use free stuff, pay monthly, for site hosting i guess its called, would you count that as pro, even though i built it myself online.

It took me a year i guess to build and im still building, tweaking all the time.

So for the novice, would you say the key would be layout of the site and each pages individual text.

Oh yeah i dropped to page 2 not moved back u to page 1 lol

I could post all day on this one. as quiet days i often pass the time on youtube, watching pranks as stuff.

But one i found that, made me feel these stars are human was this.

YouTube - Robbie Williams - My Way

i tought this was an amazing performace, the guy had such emotion for the song, you could see he struggled with emotion
from about 2m/33secs you can see what it meant to him to sing this classic

great post mary, this will go on forever. and some fun ones along the way lol.
Pain in The **** Clients 29th March 2010 5:51 PM
lol. i would love to answer this one, i could go on all day lol. But i cant
Due to the nature of our customers.

All i probably can say is that 95% of my customers are from all over the world, from every continent, and have there cultural ways, of dealing with a sale.

Its probably the only job that i can get firm with a customer, Stand my ground so to speak, ignore a customer, and tell the customer there is no chance im selling you that.

so i have kept my anwswer as dipolatic as i can.

Help with Google 29th March 2010 5:23 PM
Hi Sean, I think what you have picked up on is header text.

SEO, (and lets be honest, Google) is whole host of tips and tricks. Google has a complex algorithm that decided the fate of your site and its pages, and 100's of things make up this algorithm. The exact makeup is known only to Google, so the rest of the world has to speculate and guess. Any SEO outfit that tells you they know how Googles ranking works is telling you porky pies, and to compound this, Google likes to update their algorithm reguarly to which tends to give all the search engine results a good shake up.

The basic format of SEO is farly static, its the importance big G places on individual aspects that causes all the fun.

What your talking about is header title tags such as <h1>Steves Fish</h1>

Google will see this as an important keyword on the page, and will assign more importance to it, than say a title further down the page which may be <h2>Steves bargain fish</h2>

Importance of these header tags is mixed. Me personally, I think the h1's are important, after that the rest less so, but every little helps!

The current number 1 way to get yourself ontop of page 1 google for your given keyword in my personal view, is good old fashioned anchor text.

So link building, with your keyword as the link.

I'm going to do future post on SEO 101, starting from scratch and what I think you need to do to get on Google, and let everyone add their 3 pence worth

Thanks for the help. I have decided that im putting to much thought into SEO.

I think at this point i am going to leave well along, finish a couple of pages i need to.

I guess second spot on yahoo first page is not to bad.
Top of second page for now on goolge not to bad.
If i click search UK pages only, im about 4th on first page of google.

sites above me a proffesionaly done, mine is done myself. So i am going to concentrate on site and products.

Couriers 26th March 2010 7:54 PM
First of all, if you were not happy with a courier you had, that you dont overdo slagging if you were not happy with one.

Ok, as we are all proberly adverising on the net, and alot of us will be using couriers, Maybe to help others who are looking for one, or a MLF member is looking for a better one. I was wondering who you used and what you thought about them, there service and price. and any you have has bad experience with.

So i will go first. i found it a mine field for the products i wanted to send. Had 2 things against me.

First was my product, being fresh and frozen fish, i was limited to a few who would carry it. Tried the comparison websites for this type of thing, But my product was in the banned list.

The second hurdle i reached was that most companies to take me on contract, wanting a minimum weekly consignment, but how could i get that starting up, without a courier to advertise for business. Until i advertise i can do home delivery, i cant get customers. I needed a price around

I was lucky enough to hit google page 1 for a week
But now dropped to top spot on page 2

So now need to try an get that place back. I dont know anything about SEO and all that. So look around google to see what i could find out about it, Anyway, it was all double ducth to me, buy one thing i did pick up on was something to do with have having some things in bold.

lets say. i had on my site: Fresh and Frozen fish and Seafood at wholesale pricess ...

If i changed that to Fish and Seafood at wholesale prices...

so i looke at a site that was above me and on there page all be it near the bottom they had Fish and Seafood in there write up.

would this make a difference

Smoking Ban 26th March 2010 4:20 PM
My view on the smoking in cars, and mobile phones. Is that on a mobile phone, its a 2 way interaction, when you talk its fine, talking and driving is no problem. But when the other speaks on the phone, your conentration is then focused on them, listening to what they say, thats the part that makes talking on mobiles dangerous.

I would suggest if your an honest person, and have talked on a mobile phone while driving, that you would not remeber much about the stretch of road you just drove along.
I have had that feeling, hung up the phone and cant remember driving the last mile on the phone.
that does not happen when i have a smoke. or when i take my eyes of the road to check rear view mirror every 10 seconds, or wing mirrors. or look over my shoulder or turn radio up,

is turning radio up or station so bad. as said, you fiddle with buttons.
so what do i do when it rains, your windows mist up, or gets dark. or i want to make a turn, or it gets foggy do you keep driving or fiddle with buttons.

I think overall some good valid points made, from probably both sides.

Im on the side, i will spend 65 years doing what i like, smoking, drinking, eating all thats wrong, red meat, take aways, i enjoy a drink most nights at home, you get the jist.

instead on eating 5 a day, only 2 drinks aday, drink plenty water and all that to save 5 years later in life.

i would rather enjoy 65 years of life, doing what i want, that live to 70 years giving me 5 years of doing what im told or what i should eat. im happy to loose those 5 years. because to be honest, im enjoying life.
