Maybe this could be classed as positive or negative marketing?

Your doing well when your business has made it into the Urban Dictionary

One things for sure, I'll bet the founders of Uber never considered how their name would be misused by disgruntled customers or competitors.

Does this make you think about your own business and how your name could be abused?

I learnt the hard way when setting up our sister company Trusted Directory Services, or TDS for short, that in a Scottish accent it sounds like tedious

Oh well, you live and learn...

Is all publicity good publicity?

My views & opinions are my own

In a few years this could be one of the new words to be included in the dictionary!!!

Hi everybody,

I  have a similar thing with my web address, although not so derogatory. My business is Andrews Wills & Estate Planning, my website andrewswills.co.uk

I get a lot of people calling me Andrew, my name is actually Dan Andrews hence the business name, but the web address can read Andrew swills instead of Andrews wills. I'm lucky it could have been a lot worse!

Everybody should be careful of the 'other' un-noticed meanings of web addresses!

Keep on plugging away.

Welcome aboard Dan, and great story.

There's a trader I know called Robin who uses that in his business name and web address which has very unfortunate undertones, particularly if a customer doesn't feel they have had the best value for money
