As a former techie who despises email servers, I can really sympathise with the poor (or former) NHS techie who sent a test email to the entire NHS distribution list.

Amplified by the number of idiots that "replied to all", reports suggest around 180 - 200 million duff emails were bouncing round the NHS

It does make me smile (or growl) the number of people who like to paste in their contact lists into the "to" field instead of BCC. Recently we have had it from our business centre canteen, receptionist and my kids school also love to do it.

Still, gives me more names for the monthly sales mail... Joking... (in case the DPA are watching)

Does my head in too!

I've never had any lessons on e-mail etiquette, it's basic commonsense.  Gets very frustrating when you have to include the line "please reply to me only, despite my multi-recipient message".  I actually had someone reply all to ask what I meant by the above request

I imagine the campaign "Ban reply to all option" would gain some traction
