So Ask is now Ask Jeeves again, and the search engine has re-invented itself as a proper social search engine.

According to Webpro News:

...they've taken a hybrid approach, utilizing existing partnerships and new technology that's been refined over the last six to nine months, to build a new social Q&A experience that's built directly into Ask's search capabilities. When Ask doesn't immediately give you an answer (or the right answer), you can simply ask "the community."

...Also as a result of the social media aspect, he (Product Management Tony Gentile) says profiles can lend credibility to answers. For example, if you answer a question and your LinkedIn profile is attached to it, that can show your experience in a field related to a question you have answered.

So what does anyone think of the new Ask interface? Do you, or will you start using Ask?

Interesting to see Googles sponsor ad's at the top of the search results, to me, I first thought these were the search results!

Many moons ago I had great success with Ask using PPC. The conversion rates were through the roof!

As for using it now? - I will wait, see and sit on it for my site and clients

Yup, back in 2005, we used to bucket loads of orgainic traffic from Ask, then they rebranded, obviously redesigned their search algorythym, and we disapeared off their radar.

Today we get minimal traffic from Ask, so we be interesting to see if anything changes.

Very little traffic from Ask, same as from Bing?

Hope we see an improvement?
