To help show how a forum like this can help you get indexed I have today for a client put a new url for a site they will be doing shortly - there is no other links to the site at the moment and just put it live at 6.15 pm today.

well its been 4 hours, have the google gods been smiling, or do you still need to sacrifice a trainee web dev?  Stavros pointed a post out last week, can't rem which one, but was an introduction, less than a hour old and was indexed. They really are stepping up the realtime indexing!
Steve thought it would pick up the domain quicker but showing the post already See here google has the post indexed 4 hours ago - time now 10.36pm so by my calcs around 20 mins after I posted. Will let you know when domain is showing on its own. tomsk
A quick google check this morning and here it is indexed site So that shows a forum like this that attracts the spiders on a regular basis can help google find you. tomsk
Another update - so no other links for the url except for the posts here on the forum yahoo has also indexed the site give the site 1st page listings on 2 key phrases. Phrase 1 Phrase 2 Yahoo loves a keyword rich url  tomsk
Does deflate the old argument that a single link by itself doesn't add any value. Interesting stuff. Keyword Rich URLs are always the way to go. Think I'll move this thread to the SEO forum, as it may be of interest to newbies and experienced SEO'ers alike!
