Hi and welcome to the forum ![]() I also recommended you take a look at Matt Cutts and watch a few a day to get an idea. However a brief look at your site shows me that google has done what you asked for the keywords you have given it - Click Here Hope that helps ![]() tomsk
not sure how you did that but thats really interesting, the Google bit, if you say type in 'Helicopter flying lessons' ,, I'm page 6 google,, page one yahoo and bing. will have a read of the links you sent ,, thank you very much Paul
Hi Paul Many people make the mistake of chasing generic keywords rather than targeted keywords "Helicopter flying lessons" is an example If I am looking for a plumber I may start with putting in the word plumber in the search term but would soon realize that I was getting plumbers from all over the UK when I need on in the Goodwood area. Whilst I accept Helicopter flying lessons could bring you small amounts of traffic if you did get too number one for that term, you would have great stats to your site and bad conversion because a massive % would not been with commuting distance to your school. My advice would be Helicopter flying lessons Sussex , Surrey , Kent which should be easier to obtain good positions for ![]() Update - My mistake you are currently on page one for Helicopter flying lessons sussex - but theory is still the same. tomsk

It seems to me that it is far less common to type the place first and then the area. Ie "Builders Bath" would be searched more than "Bath Builders". NeilHarries
Every search Engine have own algorithm and own rules. Google is most popular and most searchable search engine in world. Google gives more traffic on your website then other search engines. Google have world largest search engine in world so that resign Google will take more time to increase your ranking then other search engines.
I think you have some mistake to setup your Meta details. Because google algo have some different from yahoo and bing. nashir
“May web page or website is more optimized for Yahoo and bing. Use google adword tool and find keywords of your niche & optimized website for that keywords then check results.” “I think you have some mistake to setup your Meta details. Because google algo have some different from yahoo and bing.” hmmm interesting bump this, I haven't seen this post in a while ![]() From what I have seen everyone is chasing down the almighty Google rank. It seems more important than any other search engine. Even in my training, there was more focus on Google than there was on Bing or Yahoo. In all honesty, I don't really understand why one Search engine needs to be specifically hunted and the others almost neglected. Would it not be better to be found on all? I always think its best to just optimize your site for any eventuality and then build on that with social media, and in the end, the rankings will come. (Maybe I'm just being backwards) ![]() Thanks, Dreamraven

From what I've seen, sites do receive decent traffic from Bing when well positioned, and more often than not the conversion rates from this traffic can be a little higher. Its not all about the quantity of traffic. A lot of the people that I talk to that use Bing (for example) use it as they have made a decision to do so, as they are fed up with the inconsistent and often spammy results on Google's first page. This tells me they feel get a better result returned to them for their search query. So conversion rates (although in smaller volumes) can be greater. Paul Myers |
