Evening

I have decided I would like to become more known in marketing online meaning I want some certificates and some things for my CV

But any good marketing books for online marketing would be good as well

I know its a long shot but does anyone know of any good marketing courses for online marketing and SEO and then books as well

Thanks,
Kevin.Wiles

Try getting some advice from CareersAdviceDirect -0800 100 900 (I think - it's that or 0800 900 100!!). Ask to speak to a Careers Advisor (because I think you need help sorting out your objectives as well as the right course). The service is free and operates 7 days a week.

Best wishes, Linda

I gave you a few courses to look at on a previous thread back-ready

As for books to learn from, Seth Godin is a bit of a God of mine and Brad Geddes is pretty good for PPC marketing. However, make sure whatever book you purchase has been published or revised recently as marketing techniques change constantly. Anything more than a year old may give you out-of-date information!

Check out the online versions of the marketing trade mags to keep on top of things.

If you want to get into PPC look at the learning centre of the Google Professional Certificates. Up to you whether you decide to take the exam. I've held this previously but let it lapsed (note to self: - retake the chuffing exam! )

But all the books, courses and exams won't make you a marketer. You need to get the practical skills and be able to apply what you have learnt via the books, courses etc to the needs and requirements of a company. The only way to gain this is to get a job doing it.

When you start getting this practical experience you will HAVE to start at the bottom of the ladder as no employer will set you on with a modest salary purely because you have got qualifications. In the marketing arena, statically information far out ways a qualification but qualifications can be the icing on the cake for a potential employer.

Hope that helps

recommended Brad Geddes Advanced Google adwords and so far so good.
I was expecting him to blow my mind with science but he has written the book is a simple logical structure, so much so I was looking for the catch.

I have implemented a few of his techniques already and the conversion rate for my Free CV wizard has increased nicely with a minimal spend.

Yeah his books are pretty good without being over technical!

Unlike some I have ATTEMPTED to read that are plain boring and make you nod off after 10 minutes .............or at least they do me
