Some are shut some are not. My husband is still going to work every day and my business is still bsuy. It very much depends on the industry and the rules in your country now. In the UK the government are paying employees 80% of their wage if they cam't work due to the virus/lockdown.

It's interesting to see the response around the world.

I literally despair at the antics of the Orange narcissist, which I'm afraid America is now going to pay a very high price. Every country is approaching it differently, depending on the severity and available resources and strength of the economy.

It looks like you're from India Steve, which if the media is to be believed is now in full lockdown, so hopefully, you can limit the human and economic damage.

But I worry about third world countries, refugee camps and failed states. They stand little chance and are in serious danger and crisis.

Larger economies are offering stimulus packages to keep the financial wheels moving and to try and mitigate as much mass unemployment as possible. But there is no rule book, and outside of a world war, this has to be the most serious human and economic crisis the globe has witnessed.

Things will recover, this will end. My worry is the amount of debt the large economies are taking on and the impact of that for years to come. We've just come out of years of austerity as the government tried to reduce National Debt. I suspect that may look like childs play in the years to come

I have been back at work now as of Monday. It seems that my company I work for has just weathered the storm..

Yes, it is very sad to say that due to this outbreak, small business has shut down. It has seen a big impact especially in developing countries, where life is busy and poor labor is also dead.

Thanks ... Although it may be bad news for 3 others.. Seems now that having a very unusual job is paying off + having years and years of experience.. If I were to say "Scale Engineer" you all going HUH ..Unless I've told you before lol .

I do feel sorry for everyone that will loose their jobs as I know how it feels when I lost mine

I’ve continued to work throughout the pandemic.... 150 bus drivers were furloughed, the 20 or so remaining bus drivers had their titles changed to key workers / heroes  ....... this week 80 percent of the drivers have returned.... though we can only have a maximum of 20 people on a double decker........ now my neighbours self employed electrician and plumber.... have all continued to work throughout this pandemic....... yet have still managed to find the time to submit a furlough claim to the HMRC with the Sparky getting £4800....... now call me an old cynic but I’m betting this isn’t just happening in my street......

Thanks,
Barney
