Mark, remember that it costs 8 times more to get a new customer than to increase the sales from the customer base you have already.

When I was lately reading about the CAN-Spam-Act I came across a serious software suggestion for bulk email marketing software solutions. The program is called BulkSender2.0. It is free and limited to 700 emails/week but: includes HTML-setup and Link-tracking, subscribed/unsubscribed lists and Google Analytics integration for bounce-management purposes. Like other have said I love a good newletter from smaller businesses but I have the large comapanies that send me several a week!
Also worth noting some webbased marketing sites offer free spam checks so this would stop you making comon mistakes before sending out newsletter and emails!
