Well its still snowing and the shops are running out of milk. 6 inches last night and going to be -7 tonight.

Orpington is a ghost town and the roads have more people walking on them than cars, reminds me of my childhood, lol.

Yes, indeed my car registered -7 when I set off at 5am today. My car bleeps at me when there is a risk of ice, so it's been bleeping every time I start it up for days now. Strangely, the bandwidth for this alert is between -3 and +3. So, this morning it didn't decide to alert me to "risk of ice" until I was nearly at work at a comfortable -3.

We had -9 in Stratford this morning, which dropped to -11 on the way to Henley, arrived at the office still with a frozen back window and the rear window heater still on

Seems to have warmed up this afternoon though.

Sheffield is getting back to a bit of normality!
Main roads are clear but very little traffic still.

Have a problem with the snow on the roof - my house looks like a muffin with the volume of snow and icicles hanging off over the edge! You walk out the house with your fingers cross because it this lot falls on you........it will be one big OUCH!!

Tomorrows task is to dig the car out

Its bloody cold.... snow still around , still a ft or more, roads are like slush puppies.. combo of ice and slush, no gritters out (not seen them for a day or so).. if you are in local area of GU then take it easy.. Plus as said a few post ago by someone else, police are giving out fines and points if snow on roof etc.. seen it today when I was out and about

Woke up to a positively tropical 5+ this morning, much more acceptable.

I must say, I've been really impressed with my milkman who's been getting through as usual. I wouldn't have pegged a battery-powered milk float as Vehicle Most Unaffected By Snow, not to mention the chap himself getting up and down all those ungritted garden paths and driveways.

Yeah, a thread about Snow

Ah well It's been a tough week.
Tuesday the 30th of November, it snowed here in Essex
the same day I actually came down with bad flu
I was amazed at the amount of snowfall we had, I've not seen that much snow since I were very little and I surely can't remember that.
It didn't stop until friday, when the rain come and started melting it.
Today on the way to work though, temperatures were freezing and there was ice everywhere

So, How are you coping with the snow in your area and just how bad is it?

Here it was above the ankles mostly. doesn't sound too scary but hey it's Essex.
I saw on the news they had snow up over the knees in some places (either that or the journalist was very short indeed)

The snow in surrey has moved on and left just the fields with a light dusting from our shower, oh my drive still seems to have some on.. I m keeping it for a rainy day otherwise its a cold day everyday with possible ice on the roads in my local area...

Orpington back streets have six inches on all pavements and our close has a 6foot pile where the snow plough left it!

My car hasn't seen my house for a week and a half now. I've had to park in the High Street.

To top it all, my car was broken into last Friday evening, there was glass everywhere.
On a brighter note, the whole process of arranging a replacement window with Autoglass was brilliant. Considering they are such a big company, their customer care on the phone and by the man that did the work was amazing.

Snow seems to be all gone in the South.

Shame it's still freezing though. -4 when I left for work today, that's the coldest I've seen it here.

If only the snow could have held out a couple of weeks, would have made christmas more like..well..Christmas.
