I dont know how much snow other members have got around the country and I dont know how it effects your business but I was wondering if a snow watch on here would be a good idea while we are hit with this snow.

That way we can judge certain area and how bad they are effected and see if it effects our business

I am a national servicing company so, in a way it effects me and reaching clients etc and I m sure other are in the same boat !!!

If any mod's etc want to take up this idea, please do..

Just to add, Surrey GU area is about 3/5 inches in places with ice on the roads, grit trucks are out but expect long delays in the surrounding area. Also the RH postcode is effected just as bad, with Gatwick closed and motorways and other roads slow or closed in places.

Hope that helps

Orpington, Kent had more snow overnight, now 12 inches.

No buses running on some routes and only 2 trains per hour to London?

No sign of gritters

Good idea. My usual 1 hour drive home took me 6 hours last night

Warwickshire seems to have escaped, light dusting, but is about -2c so lots of ice, but all the schools seem to be open.

So wheres my bloody tradesmen!! Currently sat at home patiently waiting for my new kitchen worktops and appliances to appear....

Sheffield and South Yorkshire are very bad.
I have a good 18" of snow around me and it's continuing to snow throughout the night. Snow is to the top of car types already.

No buses running
No trains
Major roads are passable by car but as Sheffield is built on 7 hills, I would advice only the 4x4 car owners and drivers to come near us for the next few days.

This is the main A61 road that is in the lowlands of Sheffield city centre

Dont know if this is true, not checked it, but friend just txt me to say Police are stopping cars who are driving with snow on the roof (I presume a load of it) and giving fines of

Update on Surrey, we getting hit hard now, snow been falling for about 4 hours and heavy.. Suggest avoid county for tomorrow at least if you are coming this way. I m going to take first day off since starting business and spend time with the kids and wife... One day of fun can't hurt

I had a better drive home yesterday. I left work early, and the roads were mainly OK until I arrived in BR6. It took me just over an hour, as opposed to 6 hours the previous night.

However, I had to dig my car out of over a foot of new snow this morning, and that was in the High Street! I was determined not to be beaten!

Stratford still seems to be unscathed, still only a light dusting, bit of ice, but all schools and roads open. Still no sign of my kitchen worktops or skiving tradesmen

Saw Yorkshire on the news this morning, holy moly! You guys weren't exaggerating!
