Who would have thought it a few years ago, in the days of the 5110, when Nokia was the must have phone!

It seems to be struggling to compete with the iPhone and Googles Android, so is now cutting another 3,500 jobs, closing it's Romania Plant, and reviewing the future of plants in Finland, Hungary and Mexico

BBC News - Nokia to cut another 3,500 jobs and close a factory

Tis a sad thing for sure. There is a Nokia out that can rival the smartphones, I'm just not sure why it hasn't yet. Maybe its just preference. Remember that there used to be many problems with some of the N series phones? It could be that problem that put people off of nokia.

Thanks,

Have not used a nokia for about 6 years, I have moved on to HTC HD7. Really good phone and i like the windows operating system.

...and i like the windows operating system.

lol That's not something you hear very often! Hmm wonder if you have to reboot the phone as often as I have to reboot my laptop?

Its a really good mobile operating system, allows the use of office and connects with xbox live. Just got the mango update to windows 7.5 which has so many new features. When driving my phone will now read the text to me and i can reply to the text through speech and it converts it to my phone

As we work in the mobile world we have seen the huge slump in requests for nokia repairs. Over the life time of our site the htc repair page has over 5000+ views, iPhone has had the same but our nokia page has had 60 views to date

I remember when the best thing you could have to impress your friends was a new Nokia with the Snake game!
Yeah that's a shame but I think I can say I saw it coming, they have never been on top of the market technology wise.
I think the closest they got to great was the Nokia N-Gage.

Aw, quite sad. I used to think I was the coolest kid around with my Nokia 3310! and Snake was my addiction!

I still think it was cooler when you set it up so that when you pressed all the numbers in a row down the centre it showed a message
