I still think it was cooler when you set it up so that when you pressed all the numbers in a row down the centre it showed a message

haha! Also, the days of having to compose your own monophonic ringtones by trowling the net for the correct key combinations. Only to find it sounded NOTHING like the correct 'song'

I miss the good old days, but cant beat the phones out their now. But i have always promised my self i would never buy an iPhone. Think im going to stick to windows

Just shows how fickle us consumers are, yesterdays hot brand is now a fond memory. Wonder if they can make a comeback from that.

Only seems like yesterday since I saw a car phone in an Austin Montego, which seemed amazing at the time, although it took up half of the boot

Almost frightening where we will be in 20 years time... Phone implants?

The only place nokia phones are being sold a lot nowadays is on Ebay!! They could think about changing their business strategy I had a 6230i and I loved it until Bl00dy Desire S came along Guess what! It's on Ebay! No kidding. I sent it where it belongs, to my father. He hates touchscreens

Thanks,

Sounds scary to me but something someone might think of!

Who would have thought it a few years ago, in the days of the 5110, when Nokia was the must have phone!

I think if you increase your business to an extant where you have big competitors in market then obviously it will be hard to survive in such kind of market. Nokia tried to get enter in a market where already iPhone is working then it was hard for him to compete. It`s also a reason of its failure that it could not define its market or make product according to their assumption. It can be a reason of its failure.

Yes, I do agree that NOKIA is in trouble but if it works hard then there are some chances for it. Technology is getting change very faster so it`s an opportunity for it to bring a change and attract market again.

They just don't wanna do it but if Nokia were to embrace Android they would be big again.
There is still a lot of people out there completely in love with Nokia as you can see by looking at global phone sales, not only smartphones. And I know a few who still do not own a smartphone that keep thinking of Nokia as the best cell phone brand there is.
But they're swimming against the tide and they think it's how you have to do it.

problem with these old firms like Nokia and RIM is they couldn't give up their own platforms and go with android. This is their downfall. New comers like HTC and Samsung had nothing of their own so quickly adapted the android.

Nokia has the financial muscle to do what Samsung did but sympian messed them up. when they finally decided to give it up, they hung themselves by tying exclusively to the windows platform. Sure they got a billion dollars from the deal but they will burn through that quickly and then they are done.

They should've done what samsung did which is to make phones on both windows and android platforms.
