Confusion About Article Submission. 10th September 2013 10:31 AM
This Article is Too old.. Can you please tell me what is the new trend.

Judging by your signature, location and posts, I guess you are somehow related to SEO and after some old school forum link building. So, you should know more about new trend in SEO. Google doesn't like duplicate content, and so are all good article submission sites.

This article on searchenginewatch will give you an overview of some SEO techniques you need to stop or refine your strategy to make sure you are not a victim every time Google goes through major algorithm changes.

In summary, don't post the same articles to hundreds of sites. Write genuine interesting articles and publish them in your own blog or guest post it to other popular blogs. If your article is interesting enough, anyone will publish it on their blogs with a link to yours.

Traditional or Wordpress 5th September 2013 10:32 AM
Few customers know about the technology which is used to make a website and few will care how you made it. But some customers want a blog to be incorporated with their sites. Now to make one what Wordpress(WP) provides out of the box will take you time to build.

As a developer, I started with traditional HTML(plain HTML in an editor, no dreamweaver or fireworks). I hated frameworks as I thought they are more pain than gain. Then I slowly started learning and I embraced WP and some other frameworks like the best thing that happened to me. Not only they save you time developing but also to achieve more in shorter time and they are as flexible as traditional way if you know the way out. If you are going into web development, I would suggest you look into WP to speed up the development in least time.

P.S. You need to have good knowledge about PHP and MySQL if you want maximum customisation power. But for not so complex websites, wordpress admin dashboard and some basic knowledge are enough to do most stuffs.
Beware of links in widgets... 13th August 2013 3:17 PM
One of the SEO articles I read ages ago mentioned one of the strategy to gain backlinks is to develop a widget or theme and give it free to people to use but include the credit link in the footer. I never made any widgets or themes public or didn't give it much thought. But while developing sites, I personally don't use any plugin, widget or theme that require a link back. In such cases I need one, I always roll up my own.
TESCO Every little helps 6th August 2013 9:52 AM
There are a lot of these private parking tickets issued. They are quite safe to ignore. So if you haven't paid already, just ignore it. This guide on MSE is quite useful to read if you had a fine from a private parking company. I myself had tickets years ago from private companies (one for overstaying, another for stopping in a bus lane near airport) and was sent letters demanding payment and debt collectors threat. But as always ignored it and nothing happened

For those supermarkets that give their parking control over to private companies don't realise that once customers are issued a parking ticket while they are shopping, it just p**ses them off and in the long run losing much more revenue as means of losing the customers for years to come (as in your case).
I thought yet another horsemeat scandal. Turns out horsesh1t scandal
Is this a bad idea 10th July 2013 10:17 AM
As some of the page extensions will change e.g from abc.com/about.html to abc.com/about etc, is this a bad idea from an SEO point of view. It's not a big site at all. Probably under 10 pages at the moment.
.

As indizine mentioned, the developer(s) should know how to permanently redirect(301) the old url to new url while keeping the link juices gained intact. There are lots of plugins which do that for you as well. All you have to do is to type old url and the replacement url.
I think it depends on the industry and the type the business is on. Most small business owners tend to think that once they do SEO on their website, more people will be visiting their sites(though keywords or links from directory etc) and will call them or buy from their websites. And for a lot of them, it is enough. Also for most small businesses, that works at least in very small scale. Marketing(online) for small businesses is not cheap and if not done properly, is not that effective. They don't have budget or don't want to spend a lot for proper online marketing campaigns. New small businesses want to spend as little as possible for marketing their site and that's when they choose SEO and to reduce the cost, they outsource them. That's when you see the rivers of low quality link building through directories, forums, blog comments etc.

Larger companies do marketing campaigns(they can afford) to boost their businesses and establish their brands and carry on both SEO(to stay in the search competition) and marketing(mostly for brand establishment and finding new customers from different channels) with huge slice of budget go to marketing.

If you want to live from your business, SEO will be enough. If you want to grow and grow big, you have to turn into marketing at some point.
Web based POS system 7th May 2013 8:30 PM
So, I was thinking of creating a web based POS (point of sale) system which will have features like product and inventory management, customer management, report generation etc. Also using the HTML5 local storage facility, the system will work even the internet is down and will synchronise once it is restored. There are already a lot of POS available from free to paid and they have a lot of features most of which are not used or needed for most of the small businesses . Now I am trying to find out what features are a must for a POS and what features people would like to see in a POS that is not already done. Please feel free to input your thought. Advice, suggestion anything is welcome and will be appreciated
Quicker Rankings Using YouTube? 4th April 2013 4:59 PM
Those companies pay people in developing Asian countries(or maybe in others too where they don't have to pay much) to do genuine likes, comments etc who just do it for money and have no interest on products or services whatsoever. I am from subcontinent and I know people who are doing this. I have seen few companies here that offers services only here in UK and had thousands of likes in facebook and more than 95% of them generated in one Asian country.

Companies here pay big bucks for social media campaigns to the so-called agencies and lots of those agencies outsource these which are not what the campaigns were intended for anyway. Agencies here should teach those outsource guys how to do SEO or Marketing the proper way (or hire those who know) and probably pay them more rather than paying pennies for rubbish SEO (I don't blame them as they are doing what they have been told ).

Google will soon hit hard on these (those who are playing the SE through social media activities) as they did on blog and link networks. After penguine and Panda, I think they will go for polar bear this time just to remind it's time for completely white hat SEO (no black and white mixed) though don't think that will ever happen.
