Look into how you can grow your business, invest in a good website, how are you going to fund this ebook business, make sure that you will be making a profit rather than breaking even. I think it is very popular, personally, due to kindles and other similar tablets which are coming out, more and more people want ebooks on the go. Just depends how you are going to market your product to the public.
Have a look at directgov and see what's on their website as they often have lots of help and advice, with relevant links and information for where you can go. There are companies that will give loans to small/up and coming businesses you just need to simply do some research and find the one that is best for you.

Very Interesting Idea!
Do you run a business from home? 25th March 2013 2:38 PM
Running a business from home is completely dependent on the person. There are lots of people who own their own businesses and choose to buy property to set up offices, because they need the space for staff, and wish to look professional to clients. However, as stated, if you are behind the scenes and many interviews or meetings are done over the phone, and you do not require any staff, then it is perfectly plausible to work from home. However it often becomes quite lonely and sometimes there is no drive to want to work in the comfort of your own home!

Tweetdeck's closing down? 23rd January 2013 11:37 AM
I don't use TweetDeck, but I do use HootSuite..I would be pretty sad if that was next to disappear. Makes life much simpler (well, in Twitter world anyways..)
I'm glad HMV have been given a lifeline - I do buy music, DVDs etc online but I really enjoy going for a browse in HMV. Maybe that is the problem? Does everybody just browse HMV but not buy?
I agree, great advice, especially with not wanting to have customers on hold for too long, there is nothing worse than being left on the end of a call, it could cost valuable customers! I worked within customer service and this was always such an issue. If there is something I can recommend it would be a service from a company such as alldaypa they offer this service for new businesses, or a business of any size. Helps deal with vast majority of incoming calls that you may not be able to handle! I had to use an outsource to manage my own business meant that I could still provide excellent customer service an essential for any job!
Have you tried paid search? Set up an Ad campaign on Google Adwords. Telephone answering service keywords can be expensive so it's quite important to have a well structured, tight campaign but it can work extremely well.
Cold calls 1st November 2012 10:29 AM
I think cold calling can still work if it is done properly. It's just many, many businesses go about it completely the wrong way - the call the wrong people, they have the wrong script and end up wasting time irrititating people. Few businesses do get it right but if your calls are extremely targeted and you have a great script then you can have some success with telemarketing.
