Is flying becoming too tedious?

If reguarly have to fly for business or pleasure, are you starting to get fed up with the whole airline and airport industry?

I know we have to have security measures, but even for internal flights, the amount of time it takes now to go through the checkin process seems to get longer, this is after you've been dropped 1/4 of a mile away by the taxi because the old drop off area is now cordoned off...

Then today BA cabin staff have vote strike action, which will be sometime from March onwards, just to cheer up the weary passenger. No doubt we will have Spanish Air Traffic Controller strikes in the summer.. list goes on..

Maybe this is why railtravel and crusies are getting more popular!

I do realise that most of the delay is for my own protection but I must admit it is becoming somewhat tedious trying to take a flight.

A few years back I took a flight to Paris. I checked in online turned up half an hour before take off walked straight onto the plane. The journey took me 2hrs 15 door to door.

I did the same journey last year It tooks me 3hrs to get through the airport.

I agree its for our own protection - but surely they can speed the process up a bit - whay does it take so long

I used to reguarly fly from Birmingham to Belfast, during "the troubles", so security was obviously a lot more visible, but that only took 30 minutes from arriving to boarding.

Haven't done that flight recently, but I bet it takes a lot longer...
