Hi All,

I am trying to do some SEO on our company website as I am quite new to SEO I just wondered if you guys had any helpful tips.

I have started posting on link directory's but not sure if these count as an inlink or not?

Also as we sell property to investors I have been putting these on classifieds pages once again don't count as inlinks....Need inlinks big time I think..

Any tips would be usefull

Thanks

It depends on the quality. I'm obviously biased when it comes to directories, but beware of spammy link directories.

remember the rule, Google knows you have the power to decide who you link to, but not who links to you.

So if you decide to link to a bad neighbourhood (link farms, dubious content or spam on the same page as you etc) then any decent link building you have done becomes a waste of time.

Getting a few genuinely quality links will be much better than spammy "list yourself in 500 directories for $50".

Link building is hard work, there are few quickfixes, and no substitiute for decent content and encouraging people to link to you natuarally (link bait).
