I have 3 domain names .com & .co.uk with 123reg now i am looking to bring them all over to the same hosting provider 2 will stay dormant for now with me wanting to have just professional emails for them so i can read messages 1 will be used as a website am also wanting to buy one other domain name .com and .co.uk and turn it into a blog through wordpress so a hoster with an easy set up with wordpress would be good. I wanted to ask

1.Is there a charge involved when transferring domains over even if you are taking a hosting package out

2.If you have just renewed your domains with the provider you are currently with say for example 2 years if then you transfer to another provider does that carry over or do you have to pay out again

3.What happens if a domain name is about to run out when switching providers will they automatically let you know to renew it

I was looking at the medium package on this site https://www.vidahost.com/web-hosting/overview i cannot find any negative reviews about this company so would like peoples opinions

Thanks for any help

There is no need to move domains around. Leave them where they are unless renewal costs are expensive or something other problem you have experienced. I keep all my domains with 123-reg as it's hassle free and fair prices. I used to get my .com's from Godaddy but since their prices went up they aren't the cheapest anymore but think they are still fair for a .com.

It is free to transfer .co.uk's to 123-reg but you have to pay for .com transfers however i'm sure the .com tx fee includes a years registration. Can't speak for every other domain registrar/seller as they are not all the same with regards price, etc. Beware the 99p ones as they catch up with you eventually and you pay later down the line in many cases. They're just there to trap you. I prefer a normal fixed price, no gimmicks. This is business not christmas shopping! They give you 60 days notice to renew and you can select to auto-renew your important domains.

Vidahost as you know from UKBF, come well highly recommended. You won't get any better testimonials from here than you have on there already about them.

Steve I know what you are saying I have a solid business plan to market to a certain niche further down the line, but if you look on some of these Facebook groups they have over 60 thousand plus fans, I have done my research and spoke to some group owners and because they are classed as fan groups they never get asked to remove anything, it's like you tube when they put clips on or fans do of there fave band or tv show they have disclaimers

I think you posted the above in the wrong thread.

I have been warned away from Fasthosts because they seem to be pretty bad, but does anybody have any other suggestions? Who do you use?

You get what you pay for, personally, I'm a fan of Rackspace. Another UK one I've used and actually liked is Bytemark, although more aimed at techies, with a lack of pretty control panels, and good old command line

If you just want shared hosting with a
