“Sounds like your not to keen on Charles & Camilla taking over?
”
I think the Queen has done an incredible job, and has been a steady hand that has seen a long line of Prime Ministers come and go, and seen just about every kind of crisis and social change the UK has ever seen.
But it's time for her to step down while she is on top, and enjoy what time she has left with Phillip. But she represents a bygone age, unrecognisable to youngsters. Charles has had a rough ride in the public eye, rightly or wrongly, and the death of Diana, conspiracy theories, and the perceived lack of support for Camilla doesn't help.
William and Kate are the new generation, recent military service, recently married, sprog, they are in the right place at the right time, and will have longetivity to take the Royals forward. Plus a King and Queen will be good ambassadors for the country, and I suspect keep the commonwealth together.
Charles represents the old guard, will appeal to traditionalists, but be alienated by anyone under 30, and I suspect will begin the beginning of the end of the commonwealth.
Obviously just my humble opinion in case a beefeater turns up and marches me off to the tower!
