Nope. If they collected their data correctly in the first place, ie people opted in and this is audit-able, then they don't have to bombard you. Everyone will be updating their privacy pages, (along with us), but you don't need to tell the world and his wife.

Like wise everyone has the right to have their data removed and be forgotten, but that's the law, you don't need to tell us Mr company we can do that

Must have had 100s of emails from companies telling me about their privacy details... totally bored with it now.... I think many are using these new rules as a means of marketing themselves.... had one company start of the email began all formal about the GDPR..... and finished by saying that if I was interested in their new product... I could get it at a 35% discount....

My neighbour has an electric car, an electric motability scooter and a electric pushbike.... then pollutes the planet with his wood burners...... I’m not sure I’m convinced of the so called ‘greeness’ of these vehicles, either by the manufacture of them or running them...

FUEL PRICES UP AGAIN 22nd May 2018 3:01 PM
Have you seen the new MOT fails coming in ...Really heavy on Diesels .. Any smoke is a fail ,oops

I have no problems with any government trying to better air quality..... the problem I have is, is governments misleading its citizens and advising them to buy diesel motors.... Bottom line is, is that it will decimate the haulage industry and penalise tradesmen and traders who use diesel vehicles..... everytime  targets are met by users.... the government moves the goal posts again........

FUEL PRICES UP AGAIN 21st May 2018 1:31 PM

They will keep putting up the price of oil now, probably to force people into changing to electric..... Saw diesel at £1.33 at Morrison’s the other day... Because it’s creeping up by whatever of a penny at a time, people tend not to notice or care... Had it shot up from the £1.18 it was when I moved last year to the £1.30 odd pence it is now.... people would be kicking up a fuss.... Spoke to a mate the other day who informed me that parking in Westminster has gone up from £4.80 to £7.35 an hour for diesels..... well that’s every business hammered once again.... is it going to make the capital any cleaner? I doubt it... anymore than the congestion charge cleared the congestion.....

What I do think, however, is that it's purely a state of mind”
I could not agree more. Like you I YoYo'd many times but never really had the genuine desire to quit. Then a combination of my health, the increasing cost and the death of a close friend aged 50 (smoking related illness). I went to see my GP, he encouraged a brief period of counselling and a cessation course. I politely told him I was a Probation Officer, I had no time for counselling and I just needed the fudging tablets!

Don't think the tablets really affected me, I think they had a placebo effect and if I am brutally honest stopping was much easier than I thought. That said, I was committed to stopping on this forum and more importantly I was ready....

my state of mind was very clear.  I do hope you get there Dreamraven and I am sure you will when you are ready.

Do you still get the urge / craving for a cigarette Ray?..... Must admit I still get the cravings at least 2 or 3 times a week.... only lasts a couple of minutes though.... saw too many people lining up to have their legs amputated last year for me to start again....

Lol seems to be the post for returning souls. Hello  how are y'all doing? ”

Blimey, seems like everyone’s coming back....

Nope not me either.... I’m afraid that as I’ve got older my views on the monarchy have changed.....

Must admit I’m still off them and e-cigs too.... not sure about the length of time, definitely haven’t smoked since I left London. Weirdly as a kid I use to love the odour of cigarette smoke... now I find it stomach churning.... As to the money saved... I find you tend to spend any savings elsewhere.... and the taxman is no worse off...

Hi Rebecca..... personally I found the hospital I was in to be ok, especially considering the lack of funding..... saw many nurses running around like headless chickens.... had an issue with most doctors and consultants not listening to me for the first 4 days... after that everything was ok.... I think I could save the NHS millions, dishing out drugs like sweets rather than  by need.... As for leaving lights on all day, I just found it annoying especially when right next to a window.....
