When Morals clash with your Work 9th June 2014 4:39 PM

"Postal workers in west Lancashire have said they will walk out if they are made to deliver free promotional copies of The Sun later this week."

BBC news - Hillsborough: Postal staff refuse to deliver free Sun copies

Seems that the Sun upset a lot of people after the Hillsborough tragedy in 1989 and the postal workers are refusing to deliver the papers due to this.

So when morals meets work what happens? Would you break your morals for work or do you stand firm and take whatever the consequences of those actions are?

Personally ive always been lucky with my jobs and ive never had to face this question but i believe i would stand up and do the right thing. Yea course i'd say that!, but i do believe i would.

Spent the weekend avoiding showers but grass now gone, 3 new fence panels erected, a ton of new stone spread and a security light installed.

Car proudly now sits on the drive, anyone stepping on the drive now gets 400watts shining down on them!

Glad to be in the office today for a rest!

Do you have a smart TV? 9th June 2014 4:18 PM

Experts are warning that smart TV's could be subject to hijacking by burying code into the signals it receives. Full story ...

BBC News - Smart TVs subverted by radio attack

Isnt it better sometimes not to report things and not give airtime to the hackers? Not sure what you can do to protect yourself if you do have a smart TV or if it is solely down to the broadcasters to ensure such an attack cant take place?

Either way still think far too much information is given away under the guise of "public interest"

We are having a bbq at tea time on Saturday (in Doncaster)!”

So how was the weather Sandra - did you manage to have the BBQ?

We had a rain interrupted day in Redditch, although by mid afternoon it had cleared up & i even caught the sun whilst out sorting my drive

Yep, get first tweet and agree its brilliant, but am i missing the point - why does the CIA need to use social media - thought they just listened in incognito

Pretty impressive for the local economy, obviously it's not a British owned company, but at least its some employment and a few quid back in Corp tax

Unless they figure a way of losing profits, or find a loop hole to lose money out the back door to Australia (where this company is based) like a few other well known corporations ....

Time will tell

In total agreement with Barney, name all or not, but you can't pick & choose which names to publish.

Also Indizine has made a fair point - my ex used to do some carework part time and wasnt paid in between jobs, plus had to pay own fuel (allegedly the hourly rate included a fuel payment!) and even for her own CRB check - absolutely shocking what they get away with.

Cost of diesel coming down. 9th June 2014 9:50 AM

I pay between £1.32 & £1.34 using 3 or 4 different garages i pass regularly.

Morrison's by me was £1.34, but was showing £1.33 this morning so not a huge difference - wonder if it will come down anymore?

A Typoon from RAF Coningsby broke the sound barrier on its way to intercept a plane that had lost contact with ATC.

This prompted dozens of calls to 999 and over 100 more to the non emergency 101 line as the plane went supersonic over Peterborough.

Anyone out & about yesterday that heard it?

Cost of diesel coming down. 6th June 2014 11:46 AM

Just heard that diesel prices are being reduced, possibly prompting a supermarket price war to develop.

Any reduction in fuel costs can only be a good thing, well except i filled up last night
