The cost of water is going up.... 28th May 2014 9:31 AM

Probably pointing out the obvious, but where is your meter?

I had one fitted to one of my houses and it was under the sink - if the meter is increasing doesn't that mean the leak is on your property and wont you have wet feet by now?

Thats almost funny except the Renault traffic van is designed to be a van, ie used for commercial use, so surely its purpose in life is to carry tools or whatever up to its max carrying capacity.

I believe that in Renault case, they actually start life as vans and then you have to adapt them, they arent sold as campers, but with all the extra weight thats added as part of the conversion process this would be no different to carrying tools

Funny enough I've had a Renault traffic van for the last 14 years, never previously had much issue with them. Bought another new one in May 2012, in October last year the gearbox was replaced, in March of this year it was replaced again. It has done 25,008 miles on both occasions it was covered under the warranty agreement (4 years / 100,000 miles) when I went to pick the van up again the Renault dealership said the van was not designed to carry tradesmen's tools and would no longer cover the vehicle under the warranty agreement..... Not my problem I told him, the vehicle belongs to Renault finance which the business has a hire purchase agreement with, so he would have to take it up with them.... I think they think we're all mugs....

Now i've heard it all - a van thats not designed to carry tools

World Cup - Interested? 23rd May 2014 2:14 PM
I would sooner extract my own teeth....”

Bit extreme - but whatever floats your boat !

As if to hi-lite my point about some of the idiots that follow this sport, seems a demented fan has sent a death threat to another player who apparently accidentally knocked Louis Suarez, injuring his knee and its feared he may be out the world cup.

Can understand passion for a sport but to send a death threat for an accident - really?

The power of Social Media 23rd May 2014 1:55 PM

Fascinating article on the BBC website, seems a security guard wanted some time off so emailed his boss. His boss then was supposed to send his boss the request but inadvertently sent it to the whole company employees and thats when good ol' social media kicked in.

Seems then that Twitter was used and became viral, with companies trying to outbid each other with tokens and gifts for said employee to use - one even offered him a trip to Las Vagas

World Cup - Interested? 23rd May 2014 10:08 AM

With the Football World Cup days away, looks like my usual TV is set to be decimated as usual with BBC & ITV set to show matches of Countries i have little or no interest in, let alone who is the better team in soccer!

No doubt our usual moronic followers will fly out to Brasil, get drunk and embarrass our Nation.

I dont get the passion and idolisation that grown men show to 22 players kicking a small object around a field. With the lack of goal line technology, the lack of sportsmanship shown to each other, diving to effectively get another player sent off, nope its not a sport that can be called fair.

Recall watching a snooker match, years ago, think it may have been O'sullivan, he leaned in to take a shot and called afoul on himself that the ref didn't see - proper sportsmanship, when was the last time you saw a football player do that?

For those that remember Why dont you, i shall be doing exactly what their intro song suggested - Switch off your TV and go and do something less boring instead !
