I don't think signing up to business directories is a good back-link gaining attempt, especially nowadays. It can be beneficial for your to list your business on them, but only if you share quality content. Keep in mind that users will search the web for your services and products, and if they find a poorly filled company presentation profile, will not have any confidence in your services or goods.

ahh, yes... know I remember . At the time we used mIRC for chatting. There were different chat channels for special subjects like: hip-hop music lovers, little scientists, gamers, etc... where we could chat with people from different places or even countries. And meetings were organised for mIRC fans in each year by that specific internet cafe. I loved those years

When I was young I used to visit one specific internet cafe almost every day. That was when I fell in love with computers, online reality and the internet . And the reason I attended on a daily basis was because, they had almost 30 computers there, with lots of features (games, cheap but fast internet connection, friendly staff). Having so many computers meant that you were not only using those computers (you can do that at home) but you could make friends by building relationships as well. And last but not the least, because all my friends were there. So after awhile it became a habit , for which I'm very thankful right now.
So maybe you should try to concentrate on the younger generation, right now I don't really have idea how to do this... but if anything comes in my mind I will let you know.
There's nothing wrong with a bookshelf, unless you have space for it, in your home.
Amazon seems to be quite a huge competitor with some great advantages, but with a few disadvantages as well. Amazon is huge full with information, which sometimes seems to be too much. I have the feeling that I get lost in details while navigating. This is probably because I don't find it user friendly at all, I get overwhelmed by information.
Frankly, I would rather use a smaller, reliable, clear-cut site than a Mall giant as Amazon.
Wow that's an awesome idea. I love books and I don't care how they are wrapped :P. Really. And since I have an ebook reader I can read in the middle of the night without turning the lights on. I love it, it's comfortable, no need of bookshelf .
Starting a business....well probably I would start with a website. I would create a website with a great design, something that book lovers would fall in love to
maybe with a wooden background. I would list my products and some online payment methods and as for advertising purposes I would use social media or even google adwords. Maybe some user experience would be highly useful as well, - asking readers to review the books they've read.
keep me posted.
If you aren't willing to spend money on advertising campaigns like adwords of facebook ads, then probably it would be wise to use social media as an advertising tool. I see it like this: If you don't have money, that try to make some time for yourself. Being active on social media with all your newest products, latest offers, christmas-, easter-, holiday sellouts might help you show off and get known. But this goes without saying that you will have to work hard to be active as much as you can. You might even become a social geek ... It's not easy but it will probably worth the time.
Hi,

My favourite is Online video tutorials & training | lynda.com it's really a trusted source, they have a lot of video training, presentation, tutorials. I always use this site if I don't have time to learn from my own experiences. Go ahead, try it
hm... quite interesting, probably I would start by knowing my potential customers:
Who are they?
What are they interested in?
What are they searching for? -google trends, insights, google adwords keyword tool
What do they consider ethical? (I don't know your business but I find this issue important)
Which are the first sites ranking high in Iran? alexa.com could help you in this.
And probably after gathering the information I would start with adwords, but just 1 month to test it.
You could analyse your competitors, to find out their recipe. It's even better if your competitors are 100% Iranian companies. They surely know what their fellow citizens want .
