I have nothing against poundland and they do have some ok £1 offers, but you do really have to be careful as you may only pay £1 but things are smaller in size, 5 packets of crisps instead of 6, 4 curly wurlys instead of 5.

Do these shops think consumers are stupid and won't notice?!? Last Christmas curly wurlys disappeared off the shelves as the shelf space was needed by more lucrative products and the only place that you could get them was poundlland!

Thank god for that, I read that petrol prices may fall to £1.10 a litre! the good old days. It comes with a price though, apparently redundancies are imminent, I'm sure it wont be the fat cats at the top, but it would be nice not to break the bank to fill up the car when to be honest you have no real choice but to drive to work. I did look at catching the bus/train and instead of taking 45 mins it would take me 2 hours to get the same distance.

I'll be watching at the pumps closely......

Good for them I say, you cant threaten and leave a bad review without the company having the right for a fair comeback and they certainly did that, and I think explained the situation in a way anybody could grasp and sympathy would not be with a lawyer!

I don't really understand why this is the case. They must have experience from last year so either they don't want to take on extra staff to fulfil orders or the Royal Mail can't cope, although I would have thought they would welcome the extra business. I put this down to very poor planning.

Foreign brickies brought in for 10th December 2014 9:38 AM

Great post Spenny, What a shame they don't invest in on-the-job training. They could then pay that money to people who are grafting in this country and want to work.

The demise of the pub as we know it? 10th December 2014 9:36 AM

I don't get out much but last week on an early Christmas do went into my local town on a Friday night and it was deserted! What has happened to the pub trade? I was trying to understand if smoking had killed it off or whether more people just party at home. Where have all of the party goers gone?

There has been a lot in the news about this however as someone who has been lazy and only just joined the switching revolution I'm unsure how to make sure that my account isn't in credit when I leave or that I get any credit back.

What's the easiest way of doing it? Everyone is saying make sure that you get it back but how?

Chocolate coins......now in Euros! 10th December 2014 9:28 AM

This is a bit of a rant but I went into Boots to get some chocolate coins and had them in my hand when I noticed they are Euros! I quickly put them back and wondered if they have all gone the same way can you still buy GBP chocolate coins? What has happened to the GBP?

Ok, I am very slow..... I have only just seen the John Lewis advert and so I'm a very late comer to the discussion and I'm sure I'm being very slow but what have penguins got to do with Christmas?

So are you like the shops and Christmas is yesterdays sales and you've moved on to Valentines day and Easter?
