Nice question! I thought of this this question a lot! Of the question, I read a lot, analyzed, and got a solution at last as I have been making backlinks for my clients, promoting their sites in social media. And in the mean time, I came across various kind of clients, found some are completely misled by others of SEO after panda, penguin and EMD update by Google. I found them helpless!!

What I suggested them-

** Try to understand the aim of updates Google made.

Aim of the updates:

** Updates not to harm but for keeping everything in right way.
** To value the quality sites.
** To discourage the spammers,
** To clean WWW....
** To welcome quality people in this areas!

Result of Update:

** Site without quality, only having a lot backlinks with 2/3 KWs got punishment.
** Good sites got rewarded.
** spammers bowled out!
** Social Media Marketing came on the stage!

Both offline and online marketing we need to boost our sale of our products. If you are dealing with products those have demand only in the limited area. You should emphasize on offline marketing because it reaches to all, i mean to those who are not online including.

Again if the product has demand all over the world, emphasize on online marketing.

For getting clients, you must communicate through some media. They are IM forums, online Market and show the previous work samples. I hope bu this way you can establish yourself an expert worker.

Few days ago, from my client I got a bad feedback on fiverr. Immediately, I contacted with my client and asked him what I could do for him. I even asked him to replace the service I sent him. It helped me to convince him. In a word, we need to communicate with the clients and understand their expectations.

Thanks for coming up with answer. Here how I go: I'm uploading photos with link to pinterest, trying to gather followers. In case of Facebook, I post links to my page and walls. Sometimes to the related fb pages of others. I'm using tumblr, multiply, delicious also.
