Finally, a car that can get me home from the pub! 21st February 2014 2:52 AM
Wow! Yes, I must admit that I did miss those. Sadly, I fear that a flying car will not be in our budget anytime soon. They would probably be a lot of fun though!

The hubby and I are working on becoming non-smokers too. We do still smoke a few "real" cigarettes a day, but we are moving more and more towards vaping. It is our hope that after moving totally to vaping we will be able to wean off entirely. Finally, a car that can get me home from the pub! 17th January 2014 9:56 PM That is so crazy! Oddly enough the hubby and I were talking the other day about when we were in grade school and teachers would tell us that by 2020 cars would be flying! I kind of doubt that will happen anytime soon. Are we set for a decent recovery in 2014? 18th December 2013 1:51 AM I think that we still have a long way to go and that the recovery is fragile. I don't think that it would take a whole lot to send things spiraling in the opposite direction, but I am hopeful that things are getting better. Long-term jobless made to work for benefits - good or bad idea? 18th December 2013 1:47 AM Wow, before 10:30 is unreasonable?? Must be nice! Most of your post sounds exactly like what has happened here under Obama. Supposedly all of these jobs have been created, but the ones that have been created pay minimum wage and want you to have "open availability". Ridiculous! Should I have one or more sites? 16th December 2013 2:12 AM Personally, I think the idea of the three separate sites is a good one, but SJR makes a good point. Why not get one or two of them up and running and then continue to expand? Lloyds fined 16th December 2013 2:04 AM My guess would be that all of that money goes straight into the government's pockets. At least that would be how it worked in the United States anyway! Charity Clothing Scam 9th December 2013 4:53 AM You know it really stinks that there are so many people willing to run a scam, and in this case it really hurts people who actually needed it. I have stopped giving my used clothing and things of that nature to one of our local charity's and started giving it to a homeless ministry instead. The place I used to give too would sell the items and the proceeds went to fund a battered women's shelter which is great. There are just so many people hurting around here that I decided to give my items to someone who would get it where it needed to be. Do you use helium in party balloons? 3rd December 2013 4:20 AM Interesting! My kids love helium balloons though so I'm still buying them! ![]() Long-term jobless made to work for benefits - good or bad idea? 3rd December 2013 4:13 AM Thanks Careers! He has actually been working at a new job for about a month and fingers crossed that this one will at least get us through the rest of his schooling. SJR I don't see any holes in your plan...I know that one or both of us would have been happy to work for the benefits we received while he was unemployed. |
