Hi Ray

Just wanted to congratulate you on your amazing feat! Been there myself so know how hard it is - ahem i have been smoke free now for 16 years

Wow

Clive

Congratulations Ray! The hubby and I are working on becoming non-smokers too. We do still smoke a few "real" cigarettes a day, but we are moving more and more towards vaping. It is our hope that after moving totally to vaping we will be able to wean off entirely.

Congrats to all the people who have given up and are trying. I know how hard it is, I was never able to fully give up until I became pregnant and I stopped cold turkey straight away, having an important reason made me do it. Good luck to you all !

Good for you, be proud of yourself and I wish you all the luck. You can do it.

Thanks,
Gail Sims

Reading in the news earlier that Wales wants to ban ecigs in public places

Not really sure of their logic, are ecigs seen as "real" cigarettes? Yes they contain nicotine but do they really normalise smoking?

Thinking back to when i first started going to pubs i used to go home stinking of smoke, sitting in restaurants and trying to eat while some ignoramus was smoking on table next to me - how different is it today!

I can honestly say if i was in a pub/restaurant now and someone pulled an ecig out it wouldn’t bother me in the slightest!

Did you use these Ray - would it have impacted your desire to stop if they were banned in Public places like "smoking" is?

No I never got in to ecigs, I do however see them more and more now and if I am honest they annoy me. As a smoker I would often think of others, never smoke while eating meals and would try to smoke outside. Ecig smokers however take great delight in smoking anywhere, they seem to be making a point of "this is legal"try stop me smoking". Well I can't do that everywhere but in our shop we have banned ecigs.

in the longer term it may be a stepping stone to real smoking for the younger generation, but then again I could be getting old...

Thanks,
