What am going to share with you here actually took place not so long ago.

A friend of mine was dead broke and he decided to take a walk in the park.. as he pondered about his next move. All of a sudden he remembered something his grandpa had told him when he was young - imagination is better than knowledge. So he immediately put that to test and imagined that he had just found some $100 note. And guess what, a few meters away from him, he saw a clean $100 note.

Please share your thoughts on this one

School Holidays 27th December 2012 10:05 AM
Well the 6/7 week school holidays fast approach and like most parents im now faced with a dilemma on how im going to keep my 2 occupied for the weeks i have them.

School holidays must cost parents and businesses a fortune. How does it affect you and your business? Do you farm them out to family, friends or day centres?

Divorce does have advantages here, im fairly lucky in that my ex and i only have 3 weeks each to cover. Im working from home next week and then im going away for the best part of 2 weeks in August so thats my shift done lol

But if i couldnt work from home next week id be out of pocket running them around to friends/family or stumping up the costs of day time activities!

Anyone know why we have such a long break?

that is not along break here in Kenya we they take one month in April, another one month in August and three months inthe christmas holiday

As we turn to the age of technology and discover so many strategies to promote our businesses online, do you think offline advertising still works?
Do you still believe in the power of radio advertising? is traditional advertising still alive?

Apart from Radio advertising, here are otherways of taking your online business offline.
- Attend your local chamber of commerce seminars.
- Join some Rotary Club - here you are likely to meet people who are dedicated to serving the local community in different capacities.
- Take some time each week to stop in to your local business enterprises and introduce yourself. It is important to leave a brochure or business card.
- If your business is product based, it is always a good idea to offer a FREE gift or free sample.
How to manage & motivate your employees! 23rd December 2012 8:11 AM
So, how would you motivate and manage employees?

Its important to start motivating your employees before you actually hire them. By this I mean, hire those candidates who exhibit self confidence - this is because self confidence in a crucial foundation to long term motivation. For the existing employees, try to involve them in the hiring process, they easily communicate both cohesion and team work.

Its good to realize that money is not always a motivator as you would like to think. Holding low cost activities such as casual lunch meetings or even serving fun snacks can do magic in motivating your staff.

Remember to reward your staff according to their perfomance. Staff that is rewarded and recognized for their hard work tends to be more motivated and is likely to improve. I would suggest giving incentives such as bonuses, paid travel or even paid time off.
I'm obviously an amateur in business as I have a HMRC tax bill due in January and the company has to squirrel away every month to save up for the annual Corp Tax bill

Anyone got the number for Vodaphones accountant?

This just makes me wonder where the tax man was for all this time. Do such acts amount to corruption?
