As we turn to the age of technology and discover so many strategies to promote our businesses online, do you think offline advertising still works?
Do you still believe in the power of radio advertising? is traditional advertising still alive?

Apart from Radio advertising, here are otherways of taking your online business offline.
- Attend your local chamber of commerce seminars.
- Join some Rotary Club - here you are likely to meet people who are dedicated to serving the local community in different capacities.
- Take some time each week to stop in to your local business enterprises and introduce yourself. It is important to leave a brochure or business card.
- If your business is product based, it is always a good idea to offer a FREE gift or free sample.

As of now, yes. It is sill alive because not "everyone" has moved to the internet. Televisions and newspapers still exist. Till they are there I think offline advertising will always be there. Maybe on a smaller scale but it will be there.

I worked for media vest group a few years back and bill board advertising made up most of their business.

They were based in London, which helped. The number of people adverts were exposed to on buses, underground trains and bill boards was quite astonishing when we were shown the stats.

They were running a campaign of interactive bill boards for a while too, to increase awareness - which often got shared online as well.

So I don't feel that real life advertising will ever die out. But does it make as bold an impact? Perhaps not if more people stay inside all day.

No doubt traditional advertising is still alive. But modern technology provides better options and cover wide area for advertising. If we think on radio or other traditional advertising then it provides less possibility for lead generation and it is slow too than technique like SEO, PPC, Social media and SMS Marketing etc. But it doesn't mean that traditional ways are not useful and alive, Still people use traditional ways.

Hi, all of you.
Advertizing a very good way for everyone to increase their business in an easy way. Their are two types of advertizing on-line, Off-line.
Online advertizing is very efficient way because today is a world of technologies. Everyone, even Little to little children know about new technology.
But it does not mean Offline advertizing is finished, however it becomes less important as compared to online advertizing. But it is still alive, and still help us for advertizing our services.
For good result we should use both online and offline advertizing methods.

Yes, but only if it is extremely well targeted and time effective

UK US Marketing

If I can chime in...

Offline marketing, not necessarily radio per se, will always have a place in marketing and it will always be viable.

Hasn't anyone here received an adwords coupon in the mail or how about a discount from amazon?

Most people don't put two and two together when they receive these things.

If its working for the big boys...why shouldn't work for you?

In the US, we also have the US postal service joining in by offering their every door direct mail services.

The offline stuff does and will always work, but you have to be smart or you'll be scraping money from the couch cushions for a while.

Yes.. Combining online and offline marketing techniques is a beneficial way. For the businesses that serves locally, offline marketing is more effective. They can give advertises in local newspapers, magazines or they can publish their own customized magazine and distribute it to promote their business.
And using few online marketing techniques it becomes easy to stay connected with customers. So integrating both the techniques can help a lot.

I think it depends on your market and how much money you've got to spend. Radio advertising can be more about brand building or event marketing. It can be expensive but can get subliminal messages out there and then this should be backed up with a totally integrated campaign i.e direct mail and online activity. Backed up with offers or similar message on your website, email marketing so that it strengthens your message. Many people don't tie things together so you see something on a flyer, look on the website and you're not sure if the two are connected.

I think nowadays though people need to think more cleverly about now they package things and how best to reach their target audience so that they hit them at the right time to buy e.g baby photos in hospitals, they are never the best photos but  all but one of my friends bought them, you've never heard of the company but it's in a hospital so must be ok. Fashion styling afternoons with a cream tea, etc etc. how many people visit local small airfields with their kids, great advertising opportunity for flying lessons, adverts or sessions for kids. You have a captive audience.

Offline marketing still has a place, people like things that are tangible, things that seem more "real", any way that you can give people something "tangible" that promotes your business is a good thing, although you can most certainly survive just on online advertising,I think really offline advertising is more of a "nice to have" if it is not essential for your business.
