Blackberry continues to struggle 3rd April 2012 9:37 AM
Yep I've noticed the decline in Blackberry over the last year.

Countless news stories on the TV radio internet nearly every available medium, declaring how terrible Blackberrys are.

This will sound 100% like a conspiracy theory but I believe that external sources must of been behind the barrage of negative press about blackberry.

Take this as a prime example, when the PS3 meltdown happened last year, yes it was broadcasted everywhere, but nobody declared the end of the PS3 in the same way they did when the Blackberry messenger had a period of down time.

Now my personal preference is actually I-phone but my simple point is why and how did Blackberry receive such negative press over such a short period of time?
Hi Reg,

I totally agree with you, so many people just chug along literally living from pay check to pay check, heavily reliant on credit cards and overdrafts, it only takes a few things to go wrong for the house of cards to come tumbling down.

In the ideal world you would wait until you have thousands in the bank before you quit your day job. I think most business opportunities are not time sensitive so they wont suffer whilst you save money to make the full time jump, but of course if the idea is a right now, once in a life time opportunities its a much harder decision. It comes down to fate, luck and doing you due diligence, fortunes have been won and lost for making the wrong or right decision at the wrong or right time.

Nothing wrong with testing the waters first: make money in a small way first to see if there's a demand. You'll also feel a lot better if you have something to fall back on.

It's terrible that people work for years in a job, living from paycheck to paycheck (and racking up debt to buy junk!). Odds are, something will knock you off your perch sooner or later.

Game Group on verge of Collapse 28th March 2012 9:21 AM
Hey, I thought everyone might find this interesting, its a email that was sent to the Game Affiliate scheme members

Hi I agree with you partially, in some instances were perhaps the CCTV image is very poor quality or only captures the events from a limited angle. I remember a episode of Malcolm in the middle I watched with the kids where the mum from the show was prosecuted for a traffic violation caught on CCTV, how ever it was later revealed that the camera captured one side and she was actually in the right !! Poor example but you get my drift.

Overall I think CCTV is fundamental for our safety, call it big brother but people lie, full coverage CCTV does not.

In the case above there isn't really a way that the CCTV could of been incorrect, the Scaffolding was static so it would be a true image. By the way where did you find this news piece, this is the type of thing you never hear about in national media !

Probably the most controversial post I've made on this forum.

That's a bit frightening, your innocence finally proved by a bit of chance TV footage rather than a Police investigation!

Welcome aboard by the way

Becoming a Non Smoker 26th March 2012 3:53 PM
Hurrah Hurrah Hurrah

Well done, just keep up the good work. I've tried to give up so many times. I'm kinda in-between giving up and being a smoker at the moment.

I've started going to the gym as that kinda keeps your mind off of waiting a cig mainly because everywhere else aches so much that you cant even think about cigs.

Just wanted to share the fact that I gave up smoking 3 days ago

Still got a stressful day job..thumbsdown

Still running the shop and working on our website...

Am I coping?

WHAT DO YOU THINK.....arghhhhhhhhhhhh

back soon with further updates, probably from HMP Hull.

The Apprentice - UK Sitcom :) 26th March 2012 3:43 PM
Hey,

The program by no means is as good as it used to be, but half of that is that we probably have got used to the format of the show. To really shock us they would really have to play with the format of the show, but then risk people not liking it anyway. I watched the first episode and after I stopped complaining about everything being exactly the same I actually got into it again !!!!

My one criticism of the show is the fact that the women look like glamour central and the men are far more mundane to look at. I wonder if this was done on purpose or is it pure coincidence there are so many slim attractive women on the show ?

So for any UK peeps, we have a new series of the Apprentice starting tonight.

Ok so we know it's lost all of its credibility, but it still makes good TV. Will anyone be watching it or are you all Apprenticed out?

I wonder what the verdict is on the US version with Donald Trump, is that still going or has he hung up his Apprentice gloves?

First off great idea for a post.

The company that I'd like to shout about is called Catherine street motors in Warrington, they round about saved my life.

Against everybodies wishes I bought a Fiat Punto (Fix It Again Tomorrow). And from day one we had problems. The fan seized on the motorway and the car overheated, we took it to two seperate places and paid one of them over
RBS boss gets 7th February 2012 3:56 PM
I understand both opinions here, but I think that people can take it to far and forget that there is a person at the centre of this mess. He's not super human or a saint, he's just a man. If if was you, would you seriously turn down the money/ shares.

Remember he has put in the work and dramatically changed the fortunes of the bank. Should he receive no credit for his work.

My last point is that society as a whole doesn't seem to want to take any responsibility for the economic crisis, each of us contributed in one way or another. Where it was taking advantage of the credit cards being thrown your way, or whether you decided to by a house at 125% LTV.
Is this the end for Kodak? 7th February 2012 3:50 PM
Such a long and rich history, littered with milestones and innovation. I really hope it manages to pull it off, but with effectively a $1bn overdraft and a shrinking business, I wouldn't be like to place a bet [/QUOTE]

This is such a shame, I grew up with Kodak products, and still use the phrase "Kodak Moment", I can't say that I'm surprised, just another typical story of a company not adjusting to the developing world. Then trying to do to much to late.

Kodak RIP
