Sheeple more like.
Beemers are not that great anymore the quality leaves a lot to be desired.
I have several friends with X5's 5 series etc and they are always in the garage.

My mates X5 has had 14k worth of warranty work in 2 years, not too bad for a 40k car.

JAG all the way for me. saying that around my neck of the woods you either have an XF or a range rover sport unless you are poor like me and have a crappy baby bus.

We all know the puns about BM drivers, and they are now migrating to Audi.
Sorry Steve.

and the new jag is not a ford in disguise for once they actually built something ground up and it shows.

I do agree with the last generation of jags you pick up an x type and inside you cant tell the difference between it and a Mondeo.

Thanks for the warm welcome sjr4x4.

I need to gain a few brownie points so sure send me over a few keywords you had in mind and the URL of your site and i'll have a look and get back to you with one keyword we will work on if i don't hear back from Scootek today.

That's what we like an SEO guy who has some faith in his own abilities.
You are the first SEO bod to put his money where his mouth is.

I am currently scouting out SEO companies. I will be keeping a watchful eye on this pilot.

I must admit that I do miss being a full on geek, there are some days when I could just lock my self in a server room with a full on busted rig and fix away until the sun comes up.

no phones, no peoples asking for money just the encompassing din of server fans, cold pizza and the obligatory copy of computer weekly.

Agreed PPC is getting more expensive and organic seem to be the playground of the cash cow's.

but with the advent of new channels such as social networking SME's may be bale to eek out a niche.

lets hope so other wise Mr S will be homeless

Good Luck on this one Scootek, it is a mind field.
I am going through the same process myself and they vary so much.
and when I say SEO I mean link building and the techy stuff not on-line marketing.

I have been trolling forums and reading comments about the work that the said SEO bod has done in the real world.

so far they have fell into 3 camps.
1: People who know very little and don't charge very much
2: people who think they know a lot and try to charge a lot.
3: The allusive unicorn that I am yet to find someone that actually knows what they are talking about and don't charge the earth.

Camp2 are the most frustrating for me, there attitude is give us some wonga and we promise cross our hearts hope to die, scouts honour to show you some results.
my stock response is what level of results and instead of my handing over my child's inheritance why don't we do a payment by results the more results you get for me the more money you make, this is the point where they get pissy and the conversation ends.

MagnifyB may be able to crack open her little black book and suggest some people.
Yep but the demographic is all messed up on Myspace, its all bands and teeny boppers who funnily enough don't have that much disposable income.

The conversion rate on PPC is pretty bad.

prime example: I am not what you would call a popular music person I like to listen to up and coming musicians, so I do use Myspace I find a band I like I listen to there tunes and then buy there album direct, so MsSpace have facilitated my need for some fine tunage but they have not achieved a conversion.

Dont get me started on exchange as Stevey R knows it was my main stay for years. you cant beat a good bit fo exchanging

some days I could really get my Geek on.

I was on of the system architects on the HMRC exchange 5.5 to E2K3 migration, one of the biggest migrations in Europe 155k seats, so thanks to me the tax man can keep in contact each other and screw your tax up for you.

anyway enough of blowing my own trumpet time to get some mundane paper based work done.
