Google releases news metatag 21st September 2012 10:18 AM
Surely this will get abused and they will remove it? I wonder if this points to the fact that they're struggling to decide what to include on the News pages?
Thanks for that OLBNow, I think that's a very quick but defined way of how to get a Twitter account to be effective. Build up credibility and trust with useful and personal tweets and only then do you broadcast.
Adsense drops Hosted Domains 24th August 2012 3:56 PM
I've looked at this in the past and wondered if it would be better to create a cheap web site so that the domain name can gain some links and the domain grow older so that by the time it's sold or you use it the domain has more value to it. Anyone done this?
I know what you mean, then you all end up in the Yellow Pages trap, I'm going in it because they're in it, I'll have a full page because they've got a full page. Everyone ends up in Yellow Pages and it isn't working for anyone!

Not sure why that doesn't work for Thomson Local...
I realise people don't understand it but I also think a lot of very small businesses use it when they're bored. They use as a way of communicating with the outside world and enthusiastically promote their business. The problem is when they're busy they go quiet and you get no consistency across the message they are giving.
I think it is purely being used to kill of yell.com. People are turning more and more to Google rather than yell and yellow pages as their local directory. Why pay for a listing with yell when you can have a free one with the biggest local directory - Google.

When it's that popular it forces every company to have a Google+ Local page (and why wouldn't you when it's free) and therefore pushes Google+ more in everyone's face. I think it's a clever move by them.
Chrome overtakes IE globally 16th August 2012 8:44 AM
I've been a Chrome convert ever since I first tried it. I did have the same problems with it crashing a while back, it all seemed to be something to do with Flash and didn't happen all the time. I did install FF but then as everything I used was set up in Chrome I kept using Chrome. Thankfully the bugs stopped.

What I have found though is certain web sites still only work on IE, this is becoming less and less but still means I have to boot it up every now and then. How can professional web sites be so unaware of Chrome and FF?
Google penalizes Google! 14th August 2012 4:20 PM
Imagine being an SEO company and landing Google as your customer! That must be like selling ice to the Eskimos or cheese to Simon Cowell...
SEO Birthday Card 10th August 2012 2:43 PM
Have you had this joke on the forum yet?

How many SEO marketers does it take to change a light bulb, light bulbs, lighting bulbs, flash bulbs, find light bulbs, bulb lights?

It's a massive task to put on and a lot deals must be done for tickets in return for investment. With so many sponsors I wouldn't like the job of chasing up the sponsors and different organisations to check why they're not being used.

I think there were very few tickets left because of price. I went to see the football in Cardiff as they were the only tickets I could get it and it was well worth it and at just
