That's also true, but when it comes to tutorials, or visual representations I think it would be a good idea.. What would be the merit of adding the video to youtube and then either linking to it, or embedding the code into your site, would that not be better?

This is not something that I have had alot of experience in, but I do agree with the comments that other members have already commented on eg they can be expensive and they can be more beneficial to some businesses more than others.

What I was thinking was though, for a business that is promoting different products like yourself, I feel videos could be great for you - I dont mean highly polished video production but more the personal business owner speaking type video. You could run a few videos each video explaining a bit more about a particular product, its uses, ingredients, what makes it special etc.

People LOVE to hear what others think before they buy, so if you could get actual customers to sit in front of a camera and tell others why they use the product and why, this would add great credibility to the product.

Each video wouldnt have to be long either - a minute or less is ample.

One other advantage I could think of is if you have a few videos that you upload to you tube, this then means that you could appear on the front page of google for that particular product. Its alot easier and quicker to rank video on the front page than a website or webpage. You Tube does have some information on setting up a You Tube channel and how you fill in the descriptions etc. If you need this, give me a shout and I will try and find it for you.

Hope this helps

We are in an age when it's important to have video on your website, but remember to add a good description as Google can't yet read video - notice I said "yet".

We make our own videos in-house and then upload them to our Youtube channel. We have found video testimonials to be great and we have had a lot of views since they were put on our website The Printed Cup Company. We don't have the budget to pay anyone to do these videos for us at present, we are happy making our our videos at present but we could do with adding a new video a month and getting some new ideas!

I think a short video can be really helpful especially if your business is quite complex and needs a bit of explaining. Illustrated videos often work with an animation that spells out exactly what message you are trying to get across. Its also a good way to put a more human face to your business.

I wouldn't say it's essential. However, for many businesses it can be beneficial. Videos don't have to be complicated or expensive to make nowadays, so it's worth experimenting. Many businesses use Animoto, for example, where you can start out with the free version.

It is still media that can help and its both visual and informative. It gives web visitors better experience than text and pictures.

Video marketing also means optimising the videos you upload to YouTube, which means giving thought to your titles and the keywords you use in the descriptions.

Again, its pretty easy to say that video marketing is a good tool. Tell us about some that you've worked on, and if they've been successful for you or not.
