Turning off Blackberry 8900

So it turns out that by holding down the 'end call' (OFF) button on my B'berry I am just putting it into standby. I only found this out yesterday when as part of our annual PCI audit, the IP scanner scanned the office and picked up the MAC address for my phone! I make sure the WiFi connection is turned off when in the office but it is still picking something up.

I have since discovered an icon at the very bottom of the menu which supposedly turns the phone off - it gives two options "Turn off" and "Turn phone off" ?? I tried this but still it picks up on the IP scanner.

My question is... does anyone know how to turn the damn thing off without taking the battery out every time??

Thanks,

Simon

i dont know of any either... i think there is some software in the blackberry download area that may do it but it could just put the unit on standby (i've not nested it)

or a quick reset is Press at the same time alt + aA (in the right side) + del
